I was able to trace 2 separate crashes. It appears as though the second
crash/trace can only be triggered immediately after the first one. I was

You can remove the /usr/lib/pcsc/drivers/ifd-acsccid.bundle driver. It
is for 32 bits only.
I could not find a problem in your log. But the card never worked in this trace.
I think you have a real problem with your card. Try with another card.
It is not a driver problem.

Sorry Martin, I haven't noticed any patterns; I don't actually log in
all that often so there are not many opportunities for this specific way
for audio to fail. Perhaps one of the others who confirmed this bug has
noticed a pattern?

little bit less worried, however, that does not seem to be the case.

In my case (dual monitor setup - one on DVI, one on VGA) after 10 min
(as configured) both screens go off, but then one of the screen (on the
VGA cable) goes gradually from off (ie. dark) to fully on (ie. white)
