Actual outcome: you are not logged in. This happens about 50% of the times to me; if you cannot reproduce it, repeat steps 2-5 a few times. It doesn't seem to be a matter of timing: even if I let several seconds pass between steps 3 and 4, or even if I reactivate the browser after step 3, I can still reproduce the issue. Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1465675] Re: API needed to determine if App ID is a scope
I feel like your two points conflict ☺ If looking for a file on the filesystem won't work, then I can't ask click for the information as if it knew there was a scope there it'd be writing a file to the filesystem. That's basically what the scope click hook does. (symbolic link, but whatevs) Worst case if I had to spin up a full connection that wouldn't be the end of the world, in these use cases we're talking about long running processes that could keep the connection open. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity-scopes-api in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1465675 Title: API needed to determine if App ID is a scope Status in unity-scopes-api package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: There are a few cases where we'd like it if a higher level service could determine if a particular AppID is connected to a scope. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1466458] [NEW] template 'none' doesn't work with lxc-create
Public bug reported: Hi, The man page lxc-create(1) says that with the '-t' option to specify a template 'none can be used to force lxc-create to skip rootfs creation'. This does not appear to work. root@somehost:/var/lib/lxc# lxc-create -n test.lol -t none lxc_container: lxccontainer.c: get_template_path: 867 No such file or directory - bad template: none lxc_container: lxccontainer.c: lxcapi_create: 1264 bad template: none lxc_container: lxc_create.c: main: 271 Error creating container test.lol There is no template in the templates dir corresponding to the 'none' template. I've looked through the upstream tarballs from releases 0.5.0, 0.6.0, ... , 1.0.0, 1.1.0, and there is no 'none' template in any. Might be just a documentation mistake, I guess. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1466458] Re: template 'none' doesn't work with lxc-create
That stuff after my signature might be misleading. The host I'm working on, my desktop, is indeed running ubuntu 15.04, with lxc 1.1.2-0ubuntu3. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1421623] Re: Welcome wizard claims GPS is less accurate than wifi based location
It might be that some of the confusion here is caused by bug 1462664, where the GPS sometimes stops working when wi-fi is turned on. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1465675] Re: API needed to determine if App ID is a scope
Maybe we are missing each other here. I'm trying to help. I'm just pointing out that there are some potential issues we should think about. It may well be that I don't have the complete picture... When you say if a particular AppID is connected to a scope, I don't really know what you mean. All the scopes runtime knows about are scope IDs. That's it. The scopes may be kicking around in all sorts of directories, depending on configuration. So, there is no fixed place in the file system where we can look to answer the question. Instead, we have to parse a bunch of config files first, and the way to do that get the information out is to ask the registry. Asking the registry requires instantiating a client-side runtime. If you don't mind keeping a runtime around and the cost of initialising and finalising it, no change to the scopes API is needed at all. The registry can deliver a list of scope IDs it knows about through already existing APIs. To the registry, scope IDs are simply strings. It doesn't understand anything about them, other than that they are unique. So, if it's possible to answer your question by just looking at a list of known scope IDs and doing some pattern matching on them, we can do that today, in a few lines of code. No change to the scopes API necessary. I'm happy to help with an example client that does this. So, if all you need is a list of the scope IDs that are known to the registry, no problem, we can do that right now. Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1465675] Re: API needed to determine if App ID is a scope
The URL dispatcher case is that it gets a URL that looks like this: scope://com.foo_bar I want to know whether to return an error on that URL because it is a scope that doesn't exist, or to pass it onto the dash. So it is really just testing that string to see if it is something that the dash will understand. What I want is to be able to ask the Scope system whether it considers the ID valid. If that involves connecting to service or checking a file is really an implementation detail. I just want to know if that ID (or one with the version in it) are considered valid. Steps: 1) Open the browser and navigate to mobile.twitter.com 2) login (if you are already logged in, log out and relog in again) 3) swipe from the right, to go to the task switcher 4) close the browser app 5) Reopen the browser Expected outcome: you are still logged in twitter. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1466581] [NEW] Unable to unmount 'hung NFS mount' (server gone) with FORCE and/or LAZY
Public bug reported: Ubuntu Trusty, util-linux 2.20.1-5.1ubuntu20.3 I can't 'umount -f /mnt/storage' an NFS-filesystem whose remote end has gone missing. The process just stalls in an uninterruptable state. Strace shows umount at some point tries to readlink() the mount point which stalls because that mount point is broken. Which is why i want to force umount it. ;) I then proceeded to remove 99% of umount.c's code so it would just call umount2() on the target with the FORCE flag, recompiled the binary and it 'neatly' unmounted the filesystem. I think umount.c tries too many sanity checks with -f enabled. It should perhaps ask if the user is really sure, and then just call umount on the target and fix mtab etc... ** Affects: util-linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to util-linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1466581 Title: Unable to unmount 'hung NFS mount' (server gone) with FORCE and/or LAZY Status in util-linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Ubuntu Trusty, util-linux 2.20.1-5.1ubuntu20.3 I can't 'umount -f /mnt/storage' an NFS-filesystem whose remote end has gone missing. Maybe it's only a stupid oversight on my part, but not being a systemd pro, I'm currently at a loss of how to debug this any further. Hints and pointers to appropriate documentation are welcome! Kubuntu 15.04 quickly boots to a specific point where it seems to try to enable a dm-crypt partition which also carries /home, beside other data, and simply stalls. I'm not asked to enter my crytpdisk password and I also cannot enter it blindly without being asked. You can see the point where it stalls in the attached screenshot (photo of my screen). I can then press Ctrl+Alt+Del to cleanly restart the system but I could not find a way to get beyond this point with systemd. Using the alternative boot option with upstart works flawlessly. (Although booting with this boot option is really slow and it takes a while to reach the graphical login screen - it basically looks as if the system is waiting for some name resolving timeouts during boot, but that's a different issue, if've not debugged it further and maybe it's just gone once systemd works to boot my machine.) This build-dependency is present because of the recommendations on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/cpp-11 about handling of C++11. The C++11 ABI has now stabilized in gcc as of gcc 5; however, before we can switch to gcc 5, we first need to be able to do rebuild tests of the archive against this compiler. To facilitate this, please drop the build-dependency on g++-4.9 from the package in wily. 4.9 will remain the default until all transition issues have been identified, so there is no risk of accidental ABI breakage here anymore. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1462664] Re: [Ubuntu Phone] With WIFI = ON the GPS stops
Hi all! I did also some tests and want to post my results: I test GPS signal with WIFI = ON and location service = OFF - Then you got no GPS signal in the Apps Here, Sensor Status, GPS Navigation GPS signal WIFI = Off and location service = OFF - NO GPS signal in all three Apps WIFI = ON and location service = ON - GPS Signal was online but it freezed sometimes in all three Apps. Actual GPS Signal only after restart of the Apps. I also recognized that NearBy Scope showed that I should be on a place which was about 250km away. WIFI = OFF and location service = ON - GPS Signal was activ all the time, GPS Navigation App wasn't freezed I tested it with a BQ Aquaris 4.5 Ubuntu 15.04 (r23) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to location-service in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1462664 Title: [Ubuntu Phone] With WIFI = ON the GPS stops Status in the base for Ubuntu mobile products: New Status in Oxide Webview: New Status in Ubuntu Touch System Settings: New Status in location-service package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hi! Steps: 1. Enable WIFI = ON on phone. 2. Run one of these apps: GPS Navigation, HERE maps, Sensor Status. 3. Drive. 4. When you'll be into a WIFI area as a town or city, I'm thinking the WIFI will try to search WIFIs and then the GPS will stop, the GPS apps will not receive more new positions from the GPS. Extra info1: If you had GPS Navigation Sensor running, both of them will not receive new GPS positions from the device. If you restart for example GPS Navigation, GPS Navigation will receive new positions, but Sensor Status not, until you restart it too. Extra info2: When the GPS stops the icon in the status disappears, but it you kill and relaunch the app, the icon will appear again. Thanks in advance! [Touch-packages] [Bug 1439771] Re: wpa_supplicant[874]: dbus: Failed to construct signal after 'suspend'
I'm seeing something very much like this (same syslog messages, e.g.) but the differences are: 1) It's on a wired interface (802.1x wired) 2) Suspend isn't involved; it never works 3) Wireless 802.1x works perfectly on the same machine (although I haven't tried suspending it; it's my work machine and is always lid-open in a dock) Hardware is a new ThinkPad W541 with Ultradock (but wired 802.1x doesn't work undocked, either). OS is a fresh install of Ubuntu 15.04. I'll try switching to Upstart later today and see if that helps; FWIW, I booted a live 14.04 DVD and wired 802.1x didn't work there, either, so I don't have high hopes for Upstart, but I'll try it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to dbus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1439771 Title: wpa_supplicant[874]: dbus: Failed to construct signal after 'suspend' Status in dbus package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: The Wifi network can't connect after the wake up from suspend.
