[Touch-packages] [Bug 1471230] Re: ping got confused about IP-adress after host unreachable
I see I've made a typo regarding icmp_seq in the output of the second run of ping (icmp_seq 1, then 2, and then 1 again, but the last one should be 3). I typed this manually, so there may be other typos as well. But I can't see any typos regarding the main point, I got the ping replies from my own IP address, with times on the order of 0.400ms. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to iputils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471230 Title: ping got confused about IP-adress after host unreachable Status in iputils package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I tried pinging an IP address on an internal network. Looking at the times, the ping replies appear to actually come from 10.0.0.96, or at least some other remote host, based on the time values. If I ping 10.0.0.95 (my own IP), I'm seeing time values of 0.040ms or thereabouts, so an order of magnitude faster. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1457910] Re: Unity panels steal input events while under (some) fullscreen windows
Mh, this makes things harder to fix... The fact is that the shell is not drawn when there are some fullscreen windows around, and that's fine... But compiz adds it back on top when a fullscreen window has no focus. This means that to fix the issue we can both show the shell on top of these windows (not sure the best option), or make the shell not to take input in this scenario... It's my host, and it's normal to get the initial ICMP Destination Host Unreachable messages from the local IP when ARP fails. I almost immediately reran ping, and now the host was up from the start, and see responses coming from the actual host that I'm pinging. Looking at the times, the ping replies appear to actually come from 10.0.0.96, or at least some other remote host, based on the time values. If I ping 10.0.0.95 (my own IP), I'm seeing time values of 0.040ms or thereabouts, so an order of magnitude faster. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1450493] Re: Phone reboots after removing and installing scope
Looking further into this issue, it actually looks related to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1470750 This reboot issue seems to occur on the nexus but not the bq. The bug above describes behaviour experienced on the arale and bq when uninstalling a scope, so that leads me to believe the reboot does not occur on arale either. Basically, upon uninstalling a scope we see the scope registry process CPU usage shoot up. On the nexus, after a short time of eating the CPU like this, the phone reboots. If however, I stop the registry process somewhere between the uninstall and where I'd expect a reboot, the phone does not reboot. Therefore, I believe if we fix bug #1470750, we fix this one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity-scopes-api in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1450493 Title: Phone reboots after removing and installing scope Status in unity-scopes-api package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Once I’ve finished running / debugging my scope (i.e. I hit the stop button), the phone returns to the home scope, then after approx. 10s, the phone reboots (I mean, back to the boot screen, not just a unity crash). ** Changed in: ubuntu-ux Status: Triaged = In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to click-apparmor in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1385410 Title: hook into system-image updates to precompile policy prior to reboot Status in Ubuntu UX bugs: In Progress Status in click-apparmor package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Occasionally users will receive and OTA update that requires apparmor policy to be recompiled. Recompiling apparmor policy can take quite a bit of time (minutes) depending on how many applications the user has installed. While this is only expected to happen on major OTA OS upgrades (eg, 14.10 to 15.04), it is possible it could happen at other times. This would improve the user experience for developers considerably since policy recompiles can be relatively frequent when running the development release. https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg13291.html: On start apparmor profiles need to be regenerated which means the first boot after the upgrade might take long depending on the number of installed applications (even up to 30 minutes). Currently there will be no visual indication of the profile regeneration, so please be patient and wait until you see the UI appearing. To improve the user experience, we should detect and recompile apparmor profiles prior to reboot but after system-image updates has downloaded the new update. This always for the possibility of using a progress meter when compiling policy (which we currently cannot). Needs design input for when to do it and how the progress meter should look. See also bug 1350598, about caching compiled policies more often. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1462489] Re: Allow apps to keep the screen on
We have a patch for QScreenSaver. The way it will work is that apps can use this from QML: import QtSystemInfo 5.0 ScreenSaver { screenSaverEnabled: false } or its pendant from C++. Unity-System-Compositor will watch the application. As soon as the application is closed, the request will be dropped and the screensaver will be enabled again, even if the app didn't explicitly release the resource before quitting. We need apparmor to allow apps to call the methods: * keepDisplayOn * removeDisplayOnRequest on interface: com.canonical.Unity.Screen and path: /com/canonical/Unity/Screen on the *system* bus. ** Changed in: apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Jamie Strandboge (jdstrand) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1462489 Title: Allow apps to keep the screen on Status in the base for Ubuntu mobile products: Confirmed Status in apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in qtubuntu package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in ubuntu-system-settings package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in unity-system-compositor package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Support an interface in QML and HTML to allow an app to keep the screen on while the app is active. ** Tags added: i386 precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to glib2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991481 Title: Constant dns traffic for daisy.ubuntu.com Status in Ubuntu error tracker client (whoopsie): Confirmed Status in glib2.0 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in whoopsie package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Watching GNetworkMonitor's network-changed signal causes constant DNS traffic. Andy Whitcroft points out that the NETLINK_ROUTE socket set up by GNetworkMonitor will fire events every time an ARP entry appears or disappears. Unfortunately, we currently need an additional layer of connectivity checking because checking NetworkManager's state for CONNECTED_GLOBAL is not enough to know whether we're really online. Ubuntu does not yet use the NetworkManager connectivity check [1]. The likely solution to this bug is a replacement for GNetworkMonitor in whoopsie. 1: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~daisy- pluckers/whoopsie/trunk/view/head:/src/connectivity.c#L326 Original report follows: Every few seconds, I see a dns query for daisy.ubuntu.com. After removing whoopsie, the traffic goes away. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1470580] Re: unprivileged lxc containers fails with custom bridge
Indeed, on every error path lxc_user_nic should print an error message to stderr, but that doesn't end up in the log. If you simply do lxc-start -n container_name -F What do you see? On one failure case I see Quota reached, for instance. When I copy/paste your network config excerpt, it does work for me. Is it possible that x does not have an allocation in /etc/lxc/lxc- usernet for lxcbr0, but the configuration file still has 'lxc.include = /etc/lxc/default.conf' ? Please show the full container config and the full /etc/lxc/lxc-usernet (obfuscated if need be, but then please with annotations so we can be certain). ** Changed in: lxc (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1470580 Title: unprivileged lxc containers fails with custom bridge Status in lxc package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Using 15.04 x86_64 with all the updates installed. I'd like 2 containers to communicate with each other via bridge interface. For that I've created interface as follows: /etc/systemd/network/internalbridge1.netdev: [NetDev] Name=ibr1 Kind=bridge /etc/lxc/lxc-usernet: # USERNAME TYPE BRIDGE COUNT x veth ibr1 8 The 'x' is my username, it's first and only user configured in the system so default id map should work fine. The container network is configured as follows: lxc.network.type = veth lxc.network.link = ibr1 lxc.network.flags = up lxc.network.name = internal lxc.network.ipv4 = 10.1.8.2/24 lxc.network.ipv4.gateway = 10.1.8.1 I've enabled the service and brought the bridge up - showing ok via 'ip a' and 'brctl show'. Also works fine with priviledged containers. However with unpriviledged containers it fails: lxc-start -n asterisk -l debug -F --logfile lxc-user.log To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1470580/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Touch-packages] [Bug 711061] Re: [MIR] openjpeg
Can this please get re-checked. Debian is using openjpeg for their Ghostscript package and as Debian acknowledged the new license of Ghostscript (AGPL) we could get back to syncing Ghostscript with Debian again, bu this will only work if we have libopenjpeg in Main. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to openjpeg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/711061 Title: [MIR] openjpeg Status in openjpeg package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: libopenjpeg should be included in main because compiling poppler with --enable-openjpeg in debian/rules gives poppler greater functionality (please see bug 710412). Since this change to /debian/rules adds libopenjpeg as a build-dep to poppler, which is in main, libopenjpeg must also be in main. Main inclusion requirements: 1. It is already in the universe. 2. The package is a new build-dep, and has a large user base (think evince). 3. Searching http://secunia.com/advisories/search/ for libopenjpeg gave zero results. 4. Libopenjpeg has no current Ubuntu bugs (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/+source/openjpeg) in the Debian bug tracking system libopenjpeg has 1 open bug (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?pkg=libopenjpeg2), this is an encoding bug, but the main use for this package will be decoding. Libopenjpeg does not require any configuration or debconf questions. 5. N/A 6. All build-deps are already included in main. 7. I am afraid that this is a bit over my head, hopefully someone else could ensure that this package meets the requirments here. Based on its long inclusion in Debian and Ubuntu I think that it should be alright here. 8.This is a fairly simple program not needed too much maintenance, as shown by the bug reports. 9. The package title and description seem to be in order. My only final comments are that I am sorry this may not be quite the normal MIR, but I am just a member of bug control, not a dev. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1467218] Re: Xorg crash
AdlerHorst, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product- support/product/precision-390/drivers an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (2.6.0). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status New. But, worse, we will cache thumbnailer in twelve different sizes for that same single image because we are being asked for a different size each time. Also note that requests with width or height 0 are interpreted to mean as large as possible. The second request above consequently causes the image to be cached in its full size (unless it's larger than 1920, in which case we limit it to 1920x1920 bounding box). Something seems definitely wrong here. The multiple requests are wasteful, and the different sizes mean that the cache is far less effective than it could be. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1424795] Re: Old libselinux in Precise breaks things in Docker on SELinux-enabled host
Hmm, while the Trusty package *does* fix id -Z, useradd and cp -a, it breaks su (su user always fails with su: Authentication failure). However, I can report that the patch from CentOS 6 applies cleanly to the 2.1.0-4.1ubuntu1 libselinux .deb package; I built a modified package with this patch applied and everything works correctly for me. If you want to try it, it's at http://salilab.org/~ben/libselinux1_2.1.0-5.1ubuntu1_amd64.deb -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to libselinux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1424795 Title: Old libselinux in Precise breaks things in Docker on SELinux-enabled host Status in libselinux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: In a Docker container running on an SELinux capable kernel, the fact that /sys is mounted RO is supposed to signal to the container that SELinux is not supported on the inside, so it doesn't try to do things that won't work. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1471338] [NEW] sometimes phone never wakes up or rings on incoming call
Public bug reported: testing on krilin build 56 vivid+overlay latest dual sims installed The problem is sometimes during an incoming call the phone never wakes up or rings at all (and no snap decision). From the remote end the call just continues to ring and eventually goes to voicemail. When this occurs the signal strength appears to have at least 3 bars. It seems ofono is not notifying the upper layers that a call is incoming. This can be verifed by running the following command: dbus-monitor --system | grep CallAdded This never gets fired during error condition when the incoming call is ringing from remote end. Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1316156] Re: speakers audio won't work - pavucontrol is switching continually between speakers and headphones
Thanks for keeping me updated Il giorno ven 3 lug 2015 23:05 Kristof S. k...@gmx.de ha scritto: FYI: I tested again with a current Ubuntu Installation, Lubuntu 15.04, Kernel 3.19.0-21-generic #21-Ubuntu SMP (same Asus Notebook as noted above). But have found 13.10 and 14.04 to show this identical problem. My main concern is for the 14.04 LTS version I am currently using. - I tried regulating the audio from alsamixer -by disabling auto-mute in alsamixer i managed to stop it switching from one port to the other. Still, no audio from speakers (only a regular and low-volume BUMP comes out) - I tried modifying the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file. ** No longer affects: mountall (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to mountall in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1470745 Title: Non-skippable filesystem check at boot time Status in plymouth package in Ubuntu: New Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: In the past, whenever a filesystem check was forced at boot time the user was notified by a message on the splash screen and had the option to cancel the check by pressing C. At some point this situation regressed into the current state where: 1) There is no notification any more. The boot process won't complete for apparently no reason, showing an empty splash or simply black screen. You have to manually step through the consoles and find the one where the actual boot messages appear to find out that there is a fs check running. 2) There is no way of cancelling a fs check any more. This is most intolerable for a productive system since it renders you whole machine useless in a time where you need it to get some work done or if you want to start it for a presentation. If Ubuntu enforces fs checks on boot a skip-option is an absolute requirement for users with large drives. For me, checking a 1TB drive takes 30 minutes! This wouldn't be much of an issue if Ubuntu let me choose when to check it, but it forces me to wait half an hour for a system I might be needing right now. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1378350] Re: Need to allow multiple apps to handle the same url patterns
Upon investigation, I have made the following discoveries. If you have a mail to link and gmail installed and set up, when you click on the 'mail to' link nothing happens (this assumption should also hold if you have no mail client installed). If you have Dekko installed and set up, when you click on the 'mail to' link, the user is taken to the Dekko app and a new email screen to the 'mail to' email address. I shall post a UX solution to this hopefully today. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to content-hub in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1378350 Title: Need to allow multiple apps to handle the same url patterns Status in the base for Ubuntu mobile products: New Status in Ubuntu UX bugs: Triaged Status in content-hub package in Ubuntu: New Status in ubuntu-system-settings package in Ubuntu: New Status in url-dispatcher package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Steps: * install gmail and dekko apps Expected: * when using a mailto: URL (see bug #1351222) URL, the user should be asked which app to open (and cache the response optionally?) [Touch-packages] [Bug 1323732] Re: adduser should support managing additional password/shadow/group files from libnss-extrausers
Hm. I don't think I like this patch =) In Clearlinux.org we use nss-altfiles, not extrausers project. And I have extensively patched shadow to support altfiles. Ideally I would like that support to be reviewed and landed upstream. Specifically all system accounts groups are defined in altfiles, yet one can do things like add this system account to this system group in which case relevant stanzas from system data files is copied and stored in files under /etc/. Can we merge this support in shadow? At the moment it seems like clearlinux.org, ubuntu (snappy), fedora (atomic) are using altfiles/extrausers and all would want proper support in shadow of setups with split system-provided accounts user/admin modified accounts. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to adduser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1323732 Title: adduser should support managing additional password/shadow/group files from libnss-extrausers Status in adduser package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: with our readonly system-image setup when adding a user or changing a password using the /etc/{passwd,shadow,group} is not actually possible. we plan to solve this via using libnss-extrausers and patching the config in /etc/nsswitch.conf at image build-time. this way we can make /var/lib/extrausers writable and use passwd, shadow and group from there. unfortunately adduser is not able to operate on these files in the non-standard location. to set a user password (for having a properly working lock screen), add new users or drop the nopasswordlogin group from the phablet user it needs to learn handling these files so that we do not need to use weird hacks to manage users on system-image installs. The problem can be reproduced by just installing uninstalling scopes on the phone with the install_loop script from the following bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-scopes- api/+bug/1450493/+attachment/4419415/+files/install_loop.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity-scopes-api in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1470750 Title: scoperegistry uses 45% CPU after applying updates from the store, draining battery quickly Status in the base for Ubuntu mobile products: Confirmed Status in unity-scopes-api package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: current build number: 44 device name: arale channel: ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/meizu.en last update: 2015-07-02 07:10:44 version version: 44 version ubuntu: 20150702 version device: 20150608-6e66f3c version custom: 20150602-731-5-32 Suddenly this morning, the battery started discharging very quickly, 'top' revealed that scoperegistry was using around 45% CPU steadily. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1471127] [NEW] [MX4] Access to Notificationbar even with pin lock
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I've created a pin lock for the phone. And i thought i have to enter the pin if i'm want to send a answer to a message or activate wifi and so on. But i can change all the settings in the notification bar without entering the pin. I think the notification bar should be lock until the pin is entered ** Affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- [MX4] Access to Notificationbar even with pin lock https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
