alsamixer misidentifies the speaker channel as a headphone. In fact
raising one of the headphones channels allows the speakers to work.
The problem returns the next time you use the headphones, as the
computer will lower the volume to zero once again as you plug out the

I've added Ubuntu translations as also affected. I'm not too familiar
with how translations are imported from upstream, but I suppose they
might know more. Possibly this is a bug report which should affect
Launchpad itself, but let's wait to hear what the translators project

It is not a bug. We intentionally disable debug output in Debian/Ubuntu
(Fedora also does the same thing). It was done in order to solve
https://bugs.debian.org/805399.
There are easy workarounds: either what you suggested, or exporting
QT_LOGGING_RULES="*.debug=true".
