[Touch-packages] [Bug 1809856] Re: [XPS 13 9370, Realtek ALC3271, Headphone Out, Right] Static/Electric background noise when volume is not muted

2018-12-26 Thread David Koplik
** Description changed:

- Whenever I plug in my Sennheiser HD1 Wired headphones with mic, I start
hearing a static/electric (some internal?) sound if the volume isn't muted.
This does not occur with my other earbuds with mic, only the Sennheisers. It
works fine on Windows 10 running on the same machine, and on my Android phone.
I don't notice is when something is playing, but the frequency of the sound
changes when I play something, then pause it, the background noise will sound
slightly different.
+ Whenever I plug in my Sennheiser HD1 Wired headphones with mic, I start
hearing a static/electric (some internal?) sound if the volume isn't muted.
Something similar occurs with my other earbuds with mic, just much quieter and
less noticable. It works fine on Windows 10 running on the same machine, and on
my Android phone. I don't notice is when something is playing, but the
frequency of the sound changes when I play something, then pause it, the

This is from an installed Ubuntu 18.10. I have tried booting 18.10 Live USB
and 18.04.1 LTS Live USB, and the issue still occurs. I have tried playing with
alsamixer and pavucontrol settings, and nothing fixed this background noise.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 798414] Re: update-initramfs should produce a more helpful error message when there isn't enough free space--or provide an automatic tool for removal of old files

2018-12-26 Thread C W
The default boot partition size in Ubuntu 16 is way too small so having
some way to remove the oldest kernel is required I think. Its very hard
to change it once the disk is in use.

When installing a kernel, /boot may become full during execution of

[Touch-packages] [Bug 962226] Fw (1): dg

2018-12-26 Thread Alain Bolzinger
http://www.radiosiwel.info/eittyage/tkiu0f.y93?tdksaih3e

/12/26/2018 2:22:32 PM/

'Oh shit,' said Dan. 'I forgod I ordered pizza.'

Harry knew, somehow, what to do. He leaned forward and grasped the broom
tightly in both hands, and it shot toward Malfay like a javelin. Malfoy
only just got out of the way in time; Harry made a sharp about-face and
held the broom steady. A few people below were clapping.

"I'm not giving you any of anything. If I had shot him, I wouldn't be
here. I wouldn't have called up. You wouldn't have found the gun. Don't
work so hard on the case. You won't be on it more than ten minutes." His
eyes looked hurt. He took 'his cap off and the carnation dropped to the
floor. He bent and picked it up and twirled it between his fingers, then
dropped it behind the fire screen.

Thank you Christian. I tried chrony in the past, but found it less

let's leave this open in case there's a solution.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1624320] Re: systemd-resolved appends 127.0.0.53 to resolv.conf alongside existing entries

  systemd-resolved appends 127.0.0.53 to resolv.conf alongside existing

Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
systemd-resolved, or more precisely the hook script
  /lib/systemd/system/systemd-resolved.service.d/resolvconf.conf, causes
resolvconf to add 127.0.0.53 to the set of nameservers in
/etc/resolv.conf alongside the other nameservers. That makes no sense
because systemd-resolved sets up 127.0.0.53 as a proxy for those other
nameservers. The effect is similar to bug 1624071 but for
applications doing their own DNS lookups. It breaks any DNSSEC
validation that systemd-resolved tries to do; applications will
failover to the other nameservers, bypassing validation failures. And
it makes failing queries take twice as long.

/etc/resolv.conf should have only 127.0.0.53 when systemd-resolved is
  active.

Seems specific to device. Guessing it's a UA String issue.

Is there a way to see the JS console to see if a JS error is occuring?
