It appears your i7-1065G7 processor is too new for Ubuntu 18.04 to

Most likely the cause is:
PulseList: Error: command ['pacmd', 'list'] failed with exit code 1: No
PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon.
Please look in /var/crash and tell us if there are any crash files.
Please also run:
ps auxw | grep pulse
and tell us what it says.

1. Reboot
2. Verify sound is NOT working.
3. Run: journalctl -b0 > journal.txt
4. Attach the file 'journal.txt' here.

It occurred to me, that the actual query might be cached at that time,
so I did a fresh restart of systemd-resolved and query, and then
follows the log for these times: I don't see much relevant details in
it, except that it also tries to find MX-records but fails till
.

whole system freezes forever then on the next reboot after a freeze
please run:

Well, ok, here is the real data: my hostname is "fpc" and really has
IPv4 10.2.2.1, the next upstream nameserver is another machine in my
home network, 10.2.2.3 which is configured to also use its /etc/hosts
(so I only need to maintain it on one machine). Doing the nslookup
directly on 10.2.2.3
