[Touch-packages] [Bug 1850103] Re: gnome-tweak-tool window keeps flickering on cursor hovering
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1847524 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847524 SOLVED: I found the fix for the gnome-tweak tool. In my case, it turns out the rapid flickering occurs when Animations is disabled in the GENERAL page of GNOME-tweak. Re-enabling Animations stopped the window flicker. There is another minor artifact -- the Close-Minimize-Maximize- Search icons disappear from the application bar when using "<" to return to the main menu. But they do reappear when further clicking on page links in the left menu. The page link menu and the page menus display separately now in independent windows -- and this was the initial behavior I remember before disabling Animations. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to gtk+3.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1850103 Title: gnome-tweak-tool window keeps flickering on cursor hovering Status in gnome-tweaks package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in gtk+3.0 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: the gnome-tweak-tool window keeps flickering abnormally. this might be a bug as i have seen somebody else mention the issue somewhere in the internet. i do have the screencast of the phenomenon i can send it to you for the review of the problem i am facing. i am on ubuntu 19.10 system installed via bootable usb. before i had interrupted network upgrade of the system which was recovered via grub recovery mode. since i thought the flickering was due to all this, i fresh installed the system via bootable usb. still the problem is persistent and its abnormal irrespective of the animation button turned on or off. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.10 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-10-26 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.10 "Eoan Ermine" - Release amd64 (20191017) Package: mutter PackageArchitecture: all ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.3.0-19.20-generic 5.3.1 Tags: wayland-session eoan Uname: Linux 5.3.0-19-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-tweaks/+bug/1850103/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1847524 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847524 Additional information: The above rapid flickering on cursor hover in GNOME-tweak occurs even after: 1) Removing un...@hardpixel.eu (a window decoration multi-function extension) -- no effect 2) Disabling ALL gnome-shell-extensions and restarting -- no effect I don't think that this is a conflict between gnome-shell-extensions. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1841157] Re: have /usr/bin/oem-getlogs in apport to collect all in one logs
add_hooks_info works, however, there seems certain limitation and something out of current design scope. For example, check source_xorg.py, there is code flow like: if is_xorg_input_package(pkg): code a else: code b If I want to get log from code a and b, I need to use code like: report.add_hooks_info(None, srcpackage='xserver-xorg-input-evdev') report.add_hooks_info(None, srcpackage='xorg') It does not really work because, the pkg will be "Unknown" because the code get the source pkg from the report object, instead of srcpackage parameter. Even it works, other code the collect log will run twice, and the will make the code run longer. (Given we potentially want to add lots of packages, the duplicate log collected will increase.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apport in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1841157 Title: have /usr/bin/oem-getlogs in apport to collect all in one logs Status in Apport: New Status in OEM Priority Project: In Progress Status in apport package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: plan to use command like $ sudo oem-getlogs to collect all logs that oem project could need. It built fine with rustc 1.37 (although there was a unit test failure on ppc64el, which prevented it from leaving focal-proposed, see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=942022). The upstream commit that addresses this is https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/librsvg/commit/de26c4d8. I backported it and added another patch to update the vendored crates in the source tarball accordingly, and the build succeeds again, but unit tests consistently fail, on all architectures. The upstream commit message says « Although you should rather be using the 2.46 branch of librsvg as 2.44 is EOL », so we should probably update librsvg in debian to 2.46 indeed. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1644996] Re: logrotate config uses syslog group
Having journald in place, rsyslog is no longer strictly necessary, so I would suggest to stop assuming that rsyslog will be in installed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to logrotate in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1644996 Title: logrotate config uses syslog group Status in logrotate package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in logrotate source package in Bionic: New Status in logrotate source package in Cosmic: New Bug description: The default logrotate config uses the "syslog" group. > # use the syslog group by default, since this is the owning group > # of /var/log/syslog. > su root syslog This is not correct anymore since 16.04, because: 1. "syslog" group doesn't exist on a stock Ubuntu 16.04 system, it only gets installed via rsyslog 2. The owning group is actually "adm". This results in logrotate terminating with the following error during cron.daily run: run-parts -v /etc/cron.daily run-parts: executing /etc/cron.daily/logrotate error: /etc/logrotate.conf:7 unknown group 'syslog' And can be fixed by changing syslog to adm group. This is not present when rsyslog is installed, but only because that package creates the syslog group. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1847570] Re: PulseAudio automatically switches to HDMI sound output on login
The autopkgtest issue got resolved on a retry -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847570 Title: PulseAudio automatically switches to HDMI sound output on login Status in PulseAudio: Fix Released Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in pulseaudio source package in Eoan: Fix Committed Status in pulseaudio source package in Focal: Fix Released Bug description: [Impact] On my freshly installed eoan system I have two output devices: - HDMI/DisplayPort 2 - GK208 ... - Line Out - Family 17h ... When I login into the system pulseaudio always select the "wrong" one (HDMI) and I need to go to gnome-settings/Sound/Output Device and switch to "line out". This applies to every login/logout not just reboots. [Test Case] 0. Plug in a monitor that supports HDMI audio (one that appears in your Settings>Sound) 1. Log out and in again. Verify the default audio device in Settings is still speakers or headphones. Not the monitor's HDMI audio device. [Regression Potential] The behaviour is changed back to what it was before 19.10, some users might find it inconvenient and prefer the auto switch but the feedback we got shows it's unreliable and an annoying for the majority of our users so we will got back to default to safest behaviour. The fix proposed just reverts to the same code used in PulseAudio 12 and earlier. It has also been released and verified on focal already. [Workaround] Comment out: load-module module-switch-on-port-available load-module module-switch-on-connect from /etc/pulse/default.pa To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pulseaudio/+bug/1847570/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
