Bug description:
I'm using Marshall MID ANC headphones with Ubuntu 19.10.
Every now and then, I won't be able to use them without re-pairing first
(like today - see logs).
After re-pairing, everything works again for a while : I can switch off and
on the headphones, reboot... Until it breaks again.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1850103] Re: gnome-tweak-tool window keeps flickering on cursor hovering

2020-01-13 Thread rtimai
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1847524 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847524

SOLVED: I found the fix for the gnome-tweak tool. In my case, it turns
out the rapid flickering occurs when Animations is disabled in the
GENERAL page of GNOME-tweak. Re-enabling Animations stopped the window
flicker. There is another minor artifact -- the Close-Minimize-Maximize-
Search icons disappear from the application bar when using "<" to return
to the main menu. But they do reappear when further clicking on page
links in the left menu. The page link menu and the page menus display
separately now in independent windows -- and this was the initial
behavior I remember before disabling Animations.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1850103] Re: gnome-tweak-tool window keeps flickering on cursor hovering

2020-01-13 Thread rtimai
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1847524 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847524

Additional information: The above rapid flickering on cursor hover in
GNOME-tweak occurs even after:

1) Removing un...@hardpixel.eu (a window decoration multi-function extension)
-- no effect
2) Disabling ALL gnome-shell-extensions and restarting -- no effect

I don't think that this is a conflict between gnome-shell-extensions. I
have restored both of the above, as they aren't causing additional
problems.

Ubuntu 19.10
5.3.0-26-generic x86_64
GNOME Shell 3.34.1
occurs under both Wayland AND X11

Bug description:
I login to my account normally. But, when I click on "switch user"
from app indicator, the clock in login screen will be completely
blurred, impossible even to perceive it is a clock/time, except if I
wait one minute so that the last number will update and it will show
  correctly (only the last number).

If I press enter or click-up, I see the login form with the same
problem: I can see that there are two users but they are completely
indistinguishable and blurred. If I click on it, I can type my
password but still blurred, even the chars I type are blurred.

The app indicator icons are blurred too, but when I put the cursor
over them, instantly they are fixed.

PS: I have two enabled monitors and two users, but the second user is
  not logged in.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1841157] Re: have /usr/bin/oem-getlogs in apport to collect all in one logs

2020-01-13 Thread Yuan-Chen Cheng
add_hooks_info works, however, there seems certain limitation and
something out of current design scope.

For example, check source_xorg.py, there is code flow like:

if is_xorg_input_package(pkg):
  code a
else:
  code b

If I want to get log from code a and b, I need to use code like:

report.add_hooks_info(None, srcpackage='xserver-xorg-input-evdev')
report.add_hooks_info(None, srcpackage='xorg')

It does not really work because, the pkg will be "Unknown" because the
code get the source pkg from the report object, instead of srcpackage
parameter.

Even it works, other code the collect log will run twice, and the will
make the code run longer.

(Given we potentially want to add lots of packages, the duplicate log
collected will increase.)

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1609700]

2020-01-13 Thread thaller
I don't think it's helpful to reopen bugs that were closed for years.

The original issue was identified and confirmed to be fixed.

It's unlikely that the new symptoms have the same cause as the original
one. But even so, it would require information to understand the new
symptoms better.

Let's discuss this on
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/issues/328.

  Happening again on Eoan 19.10!

  Hi,

I clicked on "save passwords" but only the password is filled in
automatically when I open the connection dialog. The "Username" field
  is empty!

This happens for a SSLVPN configuration.

For another VPN config (don't know which type) everything is ok.

  openconnect: 7.06-2build2

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1671606] Re: DNS server from vpn connection is not being used after network-manager upgrade to 1.2.6-0ubuntu0.16.04.1

2020-01-13 Thread Zack Kollar
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1688018 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1688018

This is scary thread for a relatively easy fix, for some reason dnsmasq
and OpenVPN don't play well together, it's as simple as commenting out
the "dns=dnsmasq" line in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and
then restarting network manager.

  1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.4 to version 1.2.6-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 DNS
resolution of VPN's server hostnames does not work. Roll back to
  version 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.4 solves the problem.

  Steps for reproducing:
  1. upgrade network-manager:amd64 from version 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.4 to
version 1.2.6-0ubuntu0.16.04.1
  2. connect to VPN via network-manager applet
  3. nslookop servername.internal --> ** server can't find servername.internal:
NXDOMAIN
  4. disconnect from VPN via network-manager applet
  5. roll back network-manager via command: sudo apt-get install
network-manager=1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.4
  6. restart network-manager via sudo service network-manager restart
  7. connect to VPN via network-manager applet
  8. nslookop servername.internal --> the server is resolved correctly

This was working for me in 18.10, but a fresh install of 19.04 and

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1859483] [NEW] busybox udhcpd does not honour SIGTERM

2020-01-13 Thread Rasmus Villemoes
Public bug reported:

busybox 1.27.2, shipped with at least Ubuntu 18.04, has a bug where the
udhcpd daemon does not react properly to SIGTERM.

That bug if fixed in upstream busybox as of 1.29.0, commit
3293bc146985c56790033409facc0ad64a471084 . That patch should be back-
ported to the busybox 1.27.2 - I believe it applies cleanly (it did when
we hit this on our Yocto-based embedded systems).

** Affects: busybox (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

These are needed for 18.04.4 images.

  [Test case]

Boot a daily image, see that it still has the necessary stack
  installed and working.

  Check upgrade from stock bionic.

  [Regression potential]

libdrm: very minimal chance for regressions

llvm-9: a new package, no regression potential on it's own

libclc: more or less just adds support for new llvm

mesa: a new major release, but we'll pull the final stable release of
19.2.x series, so there shouldn't be any regressions left at that
  point

xserver: a new git snapshot (or maybe a point-release)

xorg drivers: modest updates, mainly just new ati/amdgpu

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1853657] Re: librsvg 2.44.15 FTBFS in focal

Title:
  librsvg 2.44.15 FTBFS in focal

Status in librsvg package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
focal currently has rustc 1.38 (1.38.0+dfsg0.2+llvm-0ubuntu1), and
librsvg 2.44.15 fails to build from source with this version. It built
fine with rustc 1.37 (although there was a unit test failure on
ppc64el, which prevented it from leaving focal-proposed, see
  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=942022).

The upstream commit that addresses this is
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/librsvg/commit/de26c4d8.
I backported it and added another patch to update the vendored crates in the
source tarball accordingly, and the build succeeds again, but unit tests
consistently fail, on all architectures.

The upstream commit message says « Although you should rather be using
the 2.46 branch of librsvg as 2.44 is EOL », so we should probably
update librsvg in debian to 2.46 indeed.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1644996] Re: logrotate config uses syslog group

The default logrotate config uses the "syslog" group.

  > # use the syslog group by default, since this is the owning group

  > su root syslog

This is not correct anymore since 16.04, because:

  1. "syslog" group doesn't exist on a stock Ubuntu 16.04 system, it only gets
installed via rsyslog
  2. The owning group is actually "adm".

This results in logrotate terminating with the following error during
  cron.daily run:

  run-parts -v /etc/cron.daily
  run-parts: executing /etc/cron.daily/logrotate
  error: /etc/logrotate.conf:7 unknown group 'syslog'

And can be fixed by changing syslog to adm group.

This is not present when rsyslog is installed, but only because that package
creates the syslog group. This is a common bug in lighter environments, like
Docker, where syslog-ng is a common choice instead of rsyslog, like in this
issue:
  https://github.com/phusion/baseimage-docker/issues/338

2020-01-13 Thread Brian Burch
Excellent news! The bluetooth dock battery status started working
properly a couple of weeks ago. I can't be sure which update fixed the
bug, but here is the latest system status:-

ubuntu 19.10 eoan Desktop

5.3.0-26-generic x86_64 kernel

Bluez-* 5.50-0ubuntu4

gnome-bluetooth 3.34.0-1

udev 242-7ubuntu3.2

libudev-1.0.0"amd64 1.233-1

The bug can finally be closed as fixed. Thanks very much everyone who
contributed.
