2024-04-12 Thread Benjamin Drung
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The relevant dpkg terminal log says:

sync: error syncing '/boot/initrd.img-5.15.0-101-generic': Input/output
error

This indicates that there is a problem with your hard disk. You can
retry the update by running:

sudo apt-get install -f

I recommend performing a back up and then investigating the situation.
In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please
set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck!

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2051672] Re: [FFe] Merge iproute2 with the latest Debian version: 6.8.0-1 from testing/unstable (main)

2024-04-12 Thread dann frazier
** Description changed:

  iproute2 upstream produces releases coinciding with upstream kernel
  releases to support the latest kernel features. Noble's iproute2 is
  still back at v6.1 even though it will use the v6.8 kernel. This means
  we provide no userspace interface for newer features - some of which are
  noted by a networking hardware partner in bug 2060969.

  Ubuntu's iproute2 has diverged from Debian's to add support for Ubuntu
  FAN. Noble has dropped kernel support for Ubuntu FAN, so those are no
  longer needed, and we could now just do a merge. We could also port the
  FAN patches forward if we can identify a need (see the original
  description of this bug to a link to such a port), but I have not done
  any testing with that.

  I have built Debian's iproute2 in a noble ppa at ppa:dannf/test and
  smoke tested it on an amd64 virtual machine:

- ubuntu@cortez-vm-0:~$ sudo dpkg -i iproute2_6.8.0-1~24.04.1_amd64.deb

  The system rebooted fine. The ip command seems to behave normally.

+ Since the upstream test suite only appears to run at autopkgtest time, I
triggered a run in my PPA, and it passed:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2060692] Re: cupsd 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5 on noble crashes due to recently backported commits from 2.4.x git

2024-04-12 Thread Till Kamppeter
Sorry, I completely overlooked that there were 2 fixes. I have applied
the patch of PR #935 now, too, and uploaded this as cups
2.4.7-1.2ubuntu7.

** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu)
   Status: In Progress => Fix Committed

Title:
  cupsd 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5 on noble crashes due to recently backported
  commits from 2.4.x git

Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  While checking out the latest versions of cups (2.4.7-1.2ubuntu4 and
2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5),
  I noticed that cupsd crashes consistently after closing my Firefox tab /
window.
  The title of the crash (from the bug-report window) is "cupsd crashed with
SIGSEGV in ???()"

  I'm running the noble-desktop-amd64.iso from 2024-03-25 after applying
  some updates from the noble and noble-proposed pockets.

  Reproduction steps:
  1. Open Firefox and manage CUPS on http://localhost:631
  2. Go to Administration -> Printers -> Add Printer and choose your printer
  3. Add your printer (I used the ipps:// protocol to manage the printer)
  4. After clicking the "Add printer" button, immediately close your Firefox tab
  5. cupsd will crash and Ubuntu will display a bug-report popup

  Versions:
  Firefox - 124.0.1-1 r4033
  CUPS - 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5

  Printer:
  Lexmark MS415dn (supported)

  I am unable to reproduce this bug on versions prior to
  2.4.7-1.2ubuntu4 (Tried with 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu1 and 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu2).

  Versions 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu4 and 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5 only backported commits from
the 2.4.x upstream git branch, so I also opened an issue on GitHub:
  https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups/issues/934

I'm surprised this wasn't caught by the DEP8 tests. Care to also perhaps
add a simple smoke test, like (note it's not using ssh or any network):

$ rsync -F --delete-after --archive /etc/os-release /tmp/
*** buffer overflow detected ***: terminated
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (34 bytes received so far) [sender]
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(231)
[sender=3.2.7]

Bug description:
  Hi,

  running the following test case in a current (today/2024-04-11) Noble
  install leads to a "buffer overflow detected":

  $ rsync -F --delete-after --archive /etc/fstab 127.0.0.1:/tmp/
  *** buffer overflow detected ***: terminated
  rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (11 bytes received so far) [sender]
  rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(231)
[sender=3.2.7]

  Original use case for the above striped down rsync options is the
  ansible module "synchronize".

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2051672] Re: [FFe] Merge iproute2 with the latest Debian version: 6.8.0-1 from testing/unstable (main)

2024-04-12 Thread dann frazier
Thanks Matthieu. I spoke to the kernel team and I think they will handle
the update. I'm just trying to help unblock them by getting this
reviewed/agreed by our release team ahead of time.

  [FFe] Merge iproute2 with the latest Debian version: 6.8.0-1 from
  testing/unstable (main)

Status in iproute2 package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  A few versions have been released and Ubuntu Noble still has the 6.1
  version (6.1.0-1ubuntu2) from one year ago. Could it be possible to
  import the latest version from Debian unstable fixing a bunch of
  issues and supporting features from more recent kernels?

  Please note that Ubuntu Noble 24.04 will probably be shipped with the
  v6.8 kernel [1]. IPRoute v6.1 supports features added up to the v6.1
  kernel, so missing the ones added to earlier versions. Switching to
  the v6.7 now should ease the upgrade to the v6.8 later.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2060692] Re: cupsd 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5 on noble crashes due to recently backported commits from 2.4.x git

2024-04-12 Thread Andreas Hasenack
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/2.4.7-1.2ubuntu6 is in noble-
proposed claiming to fix this bug.

Comment #6 above says there is a missing patch still.

In any case, doesn't look like there is anything to sponsor here, so
unsubscribing ubuntu-sponsors.

Title:
  cupsd 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5 on noble crashes due to recently backported
  commits from 2.4.x git

Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2061173] [NEW] Feature request : send a notification when print job and USB printer not connected

2024-04-12 Thread Laurent Lyaudet
Public bug reported:

Hello :),

Thanks for your hard work.
I have a printer Canon G7050.
And I configured the drivers to use it on USB only.
From time to time, I launch a print job, start the printer and forget to plug
the USB cable in my laptop.
I think it would be a very nice addition to have the system send a notification:
"The print job cannot be sent because the USB printer is off or the cable is
not plugged."
I'm not certain that this feature request belongs to cups.
Let me know if I should transfer this feature request somewhere else :)

Thanks, best regards,
 Laurent Lyaudet

2024-04-12 Thread Andreas Hasenack
At the moment, noble-proposed has
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upower/1.90.3-1, uploaded a few
hours ago:

upower (1.90.3-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream version 1.90.3
  * Drop patches, merged upstream
  * Bump Build-Depends on meson to (>= 0.60.0) and libglib2.0-dev to (>= 2.66)
as per meson.build
  * Switch Build-Depends on pkg-config to pkgconf
  * Bump Standards-Version to 4.7.0

 -- Michael Biebl   Mon, 08 Apr 2024 09:42:45 +0200

According to https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/u/upower/noble/arm64 arm64
tests with that version have passed already:
(...)

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2060967] Re: noble/rsync buffer overflow detected

2024-04-12 Thread Mitchell Dzurick
This looks like it could already be fixed in debian with
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/rsync/-/commit/d3a0eccf989175b096c10b6c42b02b1ee1306a00

I'll try an ubuntu build with this patch and report back.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2061169] [NEW] Notify send displays HTML tags

2024-04-12 Thread Rob Somerville
Public bug reported:

When Guake terminal is installed, the message alerting the user to press
F12 is displayed with HTML markup tags wrapping the F12 text rather than
displaying the F12 in bold.

This also applies to all other HTML tags as specified at:

https://www.galago-project.org/specs/notification/0.9/x161.html

[To recreate]

On a terminal, run:

notify-send "This is a bold message"

[Expected behavior]

Notify-send should either interpret the tag or not display it

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2060967] Re: noble/rsync buffer overflow detected

2024-04-12 Thread Mitchell Dzurick
I was able to reproduce this in a noble LXD container.

$ lxc launch ubuntu-daily:noble n
$ lxc shell n
# ssh-keygen -t rsa

Title:
  cupsd 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5 on noble crashes due to recently backported
  commits from 2.4.x git

Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2060358] Re: [FFe] Please add German (Noted) layout

Bug description:
  Please add the newest layout of the German Neo keyboard layout family.
  Noted is a layout designed to make typing as comfortable and efficient
  as possible in both German and English. It was developed with the help
  of a layout optimizer, which is based on the metrics and concepts of
  ArneBab's optimizer and adapts and extends them.

  I switched from Neo 2 via Mine to Noted and I like to see this variant

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2061128] Re: `add-apt-repository --pocket` doesn't work on Noble (Deb822?)

  `add-apt-repository --pocket` doesn't work on Noble (Deb822?)

Status in software-properties package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  It seems like `add-apt-repository` doesn't know how to enable a new
  pocket when Ubuntu's sources are defined in Deb822 (.sources) source
  file.

  Step to reproduce:
  1. Create a Noble chroot with e.g. Docker. Verify that in such chroot, Deb822
is used for Ubuntu's source (`ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources`).
  2. Run `add-apt-repository --pocket proposed`. Accept the prompt.
  3. Run `apt policy`.
- Expected result: `noble-proposed` is listed.
- Actual result: `noble-proposed` is not listed.

  This might be related to LP: #2060331, but since I'm not sure how it
  works, I'm filing a new bug here.

Title:
  add-apt-repository --list not returning any deb822 repositories

Status in software-properties package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Recreating the following bug report (#2052851) with a new title per
  Jeremy Bícha's (jbicha) request:

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-
  properties/+bug/2052851

  ---

  On Ubuntu 23.10:

  * When adding a PPA, 'add-apt-repository' will add the repository in
  the new deb822 format as a '.sources' file in
  '/etc/apt/sources.list.d'

  * However, 'add-apt-repository --list' cannot see/understand the new
  '.sources' file

  For example, with the flacon ppa
  (https://launchpad.net/~flacon/+archive/ubuntu/ppa):

  1. 'sudo add-apt-repository ppa:flacon/ppa' adds the flacon repo as
  '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/flacon-ubuntu-ppa-mantic.sources'

  2. apt can install and update from the new repo, as expected. you can
  also remove the repo, as expected, by running 'sudo add-apt-repository
  --remove ppa:flacon/ppa'

  3. However, 'add-apt-repository --list' does not list the repo as it
  should. GUI package managers such as Muon and Synaptic also do not see
  the new repo.

  It makes working with packages frustrating, and unfortunately, per
  Julian Andres Klode (juliank), there seems to be no plan to fix the
  broken 'software-properties-common' any time soon. See here:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2060730] Re: totem cannot install codecs via packagekit

2024-04-12 Thread Dave Jones
Sorry, I should give a bit more context on this issue to clarify things.
The test for this issue comes from the ISO tests for the Ubuntu Desktop
for Raspberry Pi images. The test intends to check whether a fresh
install can play a video "out of the box". The video used in the test is
https://archive.org/download/BigBuckBunny_124/Content/big_buck_bunny_720p_surround.mp4
which is downloaded and opened normally.

The video deliberately uses a codec that isn't seeded and installed by
default (but is a commonly used format) in the expectation that totem
will guide the user through installing the necessary bits (which it used
to back in groovy, but doesn't since -- incidentally the reason this
wasn't noticed in jammy is because it failed to even open the video at
that point, but that's now been fixed).

Seeding gstreamer1.0-packagekit is probably fine (the whole of
gstreamer's in main). Seeding gnome-software is likely not (given we're
using snap-store for software delivery currently). Is app-center
intended to fill that gap in future?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1899343] Re: tzdata sets /etc/timezone to `/UTC`, not `Etc/UTC`

  tzdata sets /etc/timezone to `/UTC`, not `Etc/UTC`

Status in debconf package in Ubuntu:

Status in debconf package in Debian:

Bug description:
  When installed within the `ubuntu` Docker container, `tzdata` sets
  `etc/timezone` to `/UTC`, not `Etc/UTC`, which breaks applications
  that are reading `etc/timezone` and expecting a valid timezone name.

  I'm guess that this wasn't noticed, since technically
  `/usr/share/zoneinfo//UTC` (double slash) still works.

  Here is a Dockerfile that reproduces the issue:

  ```dockerfile
  FROM ubuntu
  RUN apt-get update && \
  apt-get install -y tzdata
  ```

  Here is the output of `docker build`:

  ```
  test (master)$ docker build --no-cache -t tztest .
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug.  I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
[Touch-packages] [Bug 2061055] Re: Joining IPA domain does not restart ssh -- 'sshd.service' alias is not set up by default
Title:
  Joining IPA domain does not restart ssh -- 'sshd.service' alias is not
  set up by default
Status in freeipa package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress
Status in openssh package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged
Bug description:
  Joining a FreeIPA domain reconfigures SSH. E.g. it enables GSSAPI
  authentication in /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/04-ipa.conf . After that, it
  tries to restart sshd, but that fails as "sshd.service" is not a thing
  on Ubuntu:
  2024-04-12T03:10:57Z DEBUG args=['/bin/systemctl', 'is-active',
'sshd.service']
  2024-04-12T03:10:57Z DEBUG Process finished, return code=4
  (in /var/log/ipaclient-install.log)
  While that could be changed in freeipa, I'd argue that this is really
  a bug in Ubuntu's openssh package. Many upstream software, Ansible
  scripts etc. assume that the service is "sshd.service". In
  Debian/Ubuntu the primary unit is "ssh.service", but it has an
  `[Install] Alias=sshd.service`. That works in Debian because there
  sshd.service *actually* gets enabled by default, and ssh.socket isn't.
  But Ubuntu moved to socket activation (which is good!), so that
  ssh.socket is running by default. But that means that ssh.service
  never gets "systemctl enable"d, and hence the alias never gets set up:
  # systemctl status sshd.service
  Unit sshd.service could not be found.
  So if ssh.service is already running, it never gets restarted by "ipa-
  client-install".
  It would be really good to make that alias work by default -- if
  nothing else, just ship the symlink in the .deb, or create the symlink
  manually in the postinst?
  freeipa-client 4.10.2-2ubuntu3
  openssh-server 1:9.6p1-3ubuntu12
  Note: we have tested this functionality in Cockpit on Ubuntu for a long time
already. But until very recently we had a workaround to force the creation of
that alias:
https://github.com/cockpit-project/bots/commit/3bf1b20f3fa5fe202b9710b3fe78d2133ba03f5d
  We dropped it because it broke image builds due to some bugs in openssh's
postinst, but it was a bad one anyway: actual users don't have that hack, and
it hides bugs like this.
[Touch-packages] [Bug 2061128] [NEW] `add-apt-repository --pocket` doesn't work on Noble (Deb822?)
2024-04-12 Thread Ratchanan Srirattanamet
Public bug reported:
It seems like `add-apt-repository` doesn't know how to enable a new
pocket when Ubuntu's sources are defined in Deb822 (.sources) source
file.
Step to reproduce:
1. Create a Noble chroot with e.g. Docker. Verify that in such chroot, Deb822
is used for Ubuntu's source (`ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources`).
2. Run `add-apt-repository --pocket proposed`. Accept the prompt.
3. Run `apt policy`.
  - Expected result: `noble-proposed` is listed.
  - Actual result: `noble-proposed` is not listed.
This might be related to LP: #2060331, but since I'm not sure how it
works, I'm filing a new bug here.
[Touch-packages] [Bug 2061055] Re: Joining IPA domain does not restart ssh -- 'sshd.service' alias is not set up by default
2024-04-12 Thread Martin Pitt
Yeah, I could live with that -- but TBH I still consider this mostly a
bug in openssh. querying the status of sshd.service really should work.
Arch, RHEL, Fedora, OpenSUSE etc. all call this sshd.service.
Bug description:
  Joining a FreeIPA domain reconfigures SSH. E.g. it enables GSSAPI
  authentication in /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/04-ipa.conf . After that, it
  tries to restart sshd, but that fails as "sshd.service" is not a thing
  on Ubuntu:
  2024-04-12T03:10:57Z DEBUG args=['/bin/systemctl', 'is-active',
'sshd.service']
  2024-04-12T03:10:57Z DEBUG Process finished, return code=4
  (in /var/log/ipaclient-install.log)
  While that could be changed in freeipa, I'd argue that this is really
  a bug in Ubuntu's openssh package. Many upstream software, Ansible
  scripts etc. assume that the service is "sshd.service". In
  Debian/Ubuntu the primary unit is "ssh.service", but it has an
  sshd.service *actually* gets enabled by default, and ssh.socket isn't.
  But Ubuntu moved to socket activation (which is good!), so that
  ssh.socket is running by default. But that means that ssh.service
  never gets "systemctl enable"d, and hence the alias never gets set up:
  # systemctl status sshd.service
  Unit sshd.service could not be found.
  So if ssh.service is already running, it never gets restarted by "ipa-
  client-install".
  It would be really good to make that alias work by default -- if
  nothing else, just ship the symlink in the .deb, or create the symlink
  manually in the postinst?
  freeipa-client 4.10.2-2ubuntu3
  openssh-server 1:9.6p1-3ubuntu12
  Note: we have tested this functionality in Cockpit on Ubuntu for a long time
already. But until very recently we had a workaround to force the creation of
that alias:
https://github.com/cockpit-project/bots/commit/3bf1b20f3fa5fe202b9710b3fe78d2133ba03f5d
  We dropped it because it broke image builds due to some bugs in openssh's
postinst, but it was a bad one anyway: actual users don't have that hack, and
it hides bugs like this.
  In the previous version we had no unprivileged-containers testsuite because
it was inherited from Debian.
  lxc-test-unpriv was a skipped test too because we had this piece of code:
https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/tree/debian/tests/exercise?h=applied/ubuntu/noble#n129
  =
  # Skip some tests due to cgroup v2 incompatibility
  ignore "$STRING" && continue
  [ "$testbin" = "lxc-test-unpriv" ] && \
  ignore "$STRING" && continue
  fi
  =
  Just compare:
https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/tree/debian/tests/control?h=applied/ubuntu/noble
  and
https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/tree/debian/tests/control?h=applied/ubuntu/noble-devel
  We want to fix all of this for sure, but it would be awesome to get an
  updated and actual version of LXC in the upcoming Ubuntu Noble release
  too. So, may be it makes sense to skip this tests for the sake of
  having LXC updated.
  What I found in Debian, is that autopkgtests are skipped too:
  https://ci.debian.net/packages/l/lxc/unstable/amd64/
  Taking this into account it (probably) reasonable to skip this tests
  too for now.
[Touch-packages] [Bug 2060730] Re: totem cannot install codecs via packagekit
2024-04-12 Thread Nathan Teodosio
OK, I was also missing gstreamer1.0-packagekit.
Summary is:
For reproducing that exact error, have neither gstreamer1.0-libav nor
gstreamer-1.0-plugins-bad nor gstreamer-1.0-packagekit.
To fix the error, one needs both gstreamer1.0-packagekit and gnome-
software, then hitting "Find in Software" will open gnome-software with
suggestions (as attached).
[Touch-packages] [Bug 2060730] Re: totem cannot install codecs via packagekit
If I install gnome-software and try again, I get a prompt:
With a button to "Find in Software". Clicking it does nothing though.
And even before clicking anything on the prompt, '/usr/bin/gnome-
software --gapplication-service' is registered in ps.
Cannot reproduce it here, but despite no gstreamer-bad the video plays
normally. Maybe I have another package that satisfies that, I'll
investigate further.
Bug description:
  Filing this against ubuntu-meta since I believe this is a seed problem
  that potentially affects all variants of Ubuntu (flavors or
  otherwise).
  wslu is "a collection of utilities for the Windows 10 Linux Subsystem,
  such as for converting Linux paths to a Windows paths or creating
  Linux application shortcuts on the Windows 10 Desktop." Obviously this
  package should *never* be installed on a desktop or even on most VMs,
  but only within WSL instances. However...
  wslu provides the virtual package www-browser, as one of its features
  is to open links in Windows 10 using the default browser set there.
  This means that if a package depends or recommends www-browser, it may
  attempt to pull in one of several packages, wslu included. In the
  past, this hasn't been a problem because Firefox was present on all
  flavor images, and Firefox provides www-browser as well. However, now
  that Firefox is a Snap, it is possible for Firefox to be installed
  without the firefox transitional apt package being installed. (This is
  the case in a default installation of Kubuntu Noble Beta.) As it turns
  out, Kubuntu Noble Beta ships with *no* packages that provide www-
  browser, meaning that any package that depends on it will have to
  install a new browser.
  Due to some stroke of misfortune, apt is picking wslu out of all
  packages as the package for this use case. Installing gimp-help-en
  will also install www-browser, which results in wslu becoming
  installed.
  wslu causes quite a few problems when installed on a desktop system -
  among them, the syslog is spammed with errors due to the system not in
  fact being a WSL VM, audio breaks in weird ways, and application
  launchers sometimes fail. Why this happens is unclear, but the issues
  appear to resolve once wslu is removed from the system. It is
  therefore probably a good idea to avoid wslu becoming installed on
  accident in this way.
  Probably the best way to resolve this is to ensure that some package
  that provides www-browser is available on every Ubuntu image. This
  could be done via seeding or by adding a package to ubuntu-minimal.
  Alternatively, wslu could be set to no longer provide www-browser,
  though it's unclear if that would break its functionality.
[Touch-packages] [Bug 2060692] Re: cupsd 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5 on noble crashes due to recently backported commits from 2.4.x git
Great!
Where did you publish the changes?
I would like to make sure the bug does not reproduce with the new package :)
Title:
  cupsd 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5 on noble crashes due to recently backported
  commits from 2.4.x git
Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed
Bug description:
  While checking out the latest versions of cups (2.4.7-1.2ubuntu4 and
2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5),
  I noticed that cupsd crashes consistently after closing my Firefox tab /
window.
  The title of the crash (from the bug-report window) is "cupsd crashed with
SIGSEGV in ???()"
  I'm running the noble-desktop-amd64.iso from 2024-03-25 after applying
  some updates from the noble and noble-proposed pockets.
  Reproduction steps:
  1. Open Firefox and manage CUPS on http://localhost:631
  2. Go to Administration -> Printers -> Add Printer and choose your printer
  3. Add your printer (I used the ipps:// protocol to manage the printer)
  4. After clicking the "Add printer" button, immediately close your Firefox tab
  5. cupsd will crash and Ubuntu will display a bug-report popup
  Versions:
  Firefox - 124.0.1-1 r4033
  CUPS - 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5
  Printer:
  Lexmark MS415dn (supported)
  I am unable to reproduce this bug on versions prior to
  2.4.7-1.2ubuntu4 (Tried with 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu1 and 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu2).
  Versions 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu4 and 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu5 only backported commits from
the 2.4.x upstream git branch, so I also opened an issue on GitHub:
  https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups/issues/934
