Wifi icon on top panel disappears for me as well (16.04 + Unity). I have
to use settings > network to deal with the WiFi connections. Happens
mostly when I " suspend " and resume my PC.
I do not use an ethernet cable. So, unable to comment on that.

I tried Wayland while logging in and it works fine until I try to play
some local video file using VLC. Ubuntu freezes completely and I have to
power off by pressing the power button. It works fine in the default
Xorg Ubuntu session. I have the latest version of VLC that
WiFi hotspot not working for me in 22.04

My machine has Wi-Fi Hotspot broken after upgrade to 22.04
I installed a fresh 22.04 still no luck. I check Gnome bug reports, they
are asking to talk to the distro. Thanks.

Low Volume

I have dual boot Windows 10, volume is high even at 50%. The same
YouTube video, VLC player, Rhythmbox have poor audio volume even at
100%. Relying on Bluetooth speakers for some media. I tried various GUI
tools, alsa-mixer. The volume is 100%. Looks like something to do with
Tried a live session using Ventoy and Mantic Minotaur daily build 2 days
back. It was having kernel 6.3. The volume issue didn't go away. Thought
using the latest build with a new kernel would help.
