I will try to test the bug using the latest development release, however it
could take a while as I'm traveling and since it's a suspend/resume issue I
don't think it's possible to reproduce it using an USB drive (my computer
doesn't have a DVD Drive) so I need to install it.
I have the same problem on a Samsung NP305U1A-A05CO, Xubuntu 14.04 with latest
updates.
I want to report that I have installed the propietary ATI Radeon drivers and
the problem has gone (now sometimes it dosn't resume, but that's another
history).

In case anyone rebooted (like me) and ended up with a message like:
"Kernel Panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-
block(0,0)"
Just go to the grub menu, select Advanced Options > pick a previous
kernel and boot, once you get the terminal, type:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
