It has not been fixed.

Title:
Printer notification every day at midnight

Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
Every day, all my 20.04 machines get a notification that the printer
in my house has been detected.

The printer works fine and is already added. So not sure why I need to
be told repeatedly that I have a printer on the network?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1864558] Re: Printer adds automatically at boot with notification or if printer deleted

2020-06-11 Thread Jonathan Kayne
So, something that is surprising me is that nobody has asked for any
type of report. I would love to share any diagnostic information I have,
just give me a terminal command or path to a text file and I will share
it.

It also seems that the notification repeats at midnight as well

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1864558] Re: Printer adds automatically at boot with notification or if printer deleted

2020-06-04 Thread Jonathan Kayne
I want to add that it seems rather widespread, as just about every in depth
review I have seen of 20.04 on YouTube brings up this issue.
Also, disabling the notification does not work because of the fact that it
occurs at first login.
Considering how widespread this is, shouldn't it be at a higher priority?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1864558] Re: Printer adds automatically at boot with notification or if printer deleted

2020-05-05 Thread Jonathan Kayne
I am not sure how widespread this is, but I can also confirm this happens on my
laptop as well. Ever since updating to 20.04 I always get the "printer added"
notification on bootup regardless of whether it was added already or not.
On previous versions this would only happen on the first bootup or after
install of operating systems (or the first time I connect to the network) and
that was it.
If there is something I can do to help solve this, please advise me on how to
do so. It is quite annoying to see this every time I boot my machine.
