[Touch-packages] [Bug 1714596] Re: PDF images are blank

This bug makes the PDF viewer all but useless in artful. Can we hope to
see a bug fix before release?

  2. Open in Evince, note how first page is blank

Open with Firefox and note how it displays a nice intro page.

  Ubuntu 17.04 LiveCD works fine
  Ubuntu 17.10 LiveCD does not

For Evince Zesty (3.24.0) vs Artful (3.24.1) which might be any easy thing to
rule out. (I also tried the artful -proposed evince which has the issue too)
For Poppler Zesty (0.48.0) vs Artful (0.57.0) so my guess is bug is in
poppler.

Given my testing in Fedora (C#2) which worked fine with same version
of poppler and by downgrading the packages I believe this a Ubuntu
  specific poppler bug.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1504496] Re: package lxc 1.1.4-0ubuntu0.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-10-12 Thread Nick Moffitt
I was hitting problems with lxc on just normal package upgrades in vivid
earlier, but I was able to dpkg --configure -a this problem away and
finish out the release upgrade by hand (apt-get dist-upgrade (noop),
apt-get autoremove, reboot)

That's fine. Is there a role-based routing configuration we could
provide to make the user experience for USB audio better?

Title:
module-switch-on-connect should be on by default

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
bug #472697 claims that a particular device switched automatically
even without module-switch-on-connect loaded. I have a Blue Snowball
microphone, and it does not auto-switch unless I have module-switch-
  on-connect added.

I believe my default.pa was attached to this bug by apport, but I've
used the back button a couple of times so it's possible that side-
channel got dropped. All I've done is add `load-module module-switch-
  on-connect` to the thing.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1389573] Re: Update-notifier window invisible in utopic

2014-11-05 Thread Nick Moffitt
A second restart did clear it, so it may be a race in some kind of
display layer management somewhere, or something to that effect.

Title:
  Update-notifier window invisible in utopic

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Somehow I ended up with update-notifier not being visible on my utopic
laptop. I can see it in the dock on the left, and I can interact with
it that way (right-clicking to choose install available software),
and I can even close it out from there. But I cannot cause its main
window to appear on any desktop.

Rebooting does not clear this problem, and it happens even with the
  reboot notifications.
