Sometimes when I lock the screen or suspend the computer (I'm not sure
if both or just lock) and after I log in to my user again, a window
asking for the administrator password appears. This window is located in
the upper left corner of the screen and is not clickable. I try to enter
the password or cancel it but it is impossible, it is as if after the
screen lock that window would get stuck ...

Result: if I can use the computer normally, I cannot remove the window,
which occupies a significant part of the screen. Sometimes the situation
gets worse and everything starts to stall. In such cases, I can only
move the mouse, without being able to interact. Everything is stuck and
never comes back. I can only fix this problem by restarting the
computer.

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS

This problem affects all extensions that alter the dock and top bar.
Including the standard extension "Ubuntu dock". All extensions are duly updated
to the present date.

I hoped that when entering full screen it would be possible to bring
the dock and the top bar when placing the mouse over the respective
corners. And in fact it is partially possible.

However, both are flashing, making it impossible to use them in full
screen. They blink very fast and you need to click on the correct
timing to open the programs on the dock, for example. It is possible
to click, but it is as if they were triggered several times, as if I
were placing and removing the mouse from the corner very quickly.

I enter the program. Everything is OK. The problem arises when I use
the fullscreen. Sometimes the docks and the top bar work perfectly for
a while, and then they start flashing.

Bug description:
The HDMI audio on the onboard ATI RADEON 3000 (RS780 driver, GA78LMT
motherboard) does not work without tweaks in GRUB.

Expected behavior: sound working over HDMI.

Real behavior: no sound at all.

Solution: I installed "GRUB Customizer" and put the following command
in the kernel parameter (which I found after a lot of research):
  "quiet splash radeon.audio = 1"

This needs to be resolved urgently, it can alienate novice users.

Title:
Web benchmark freezing and crashing the system

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in wayland package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Expected behavior: perform the "Basemark Web 3.0" benchmark (Firefox
87 and 88), at most a loss of performance.

Real behavior: the benchmark completely crashes the system in one of
the initial stages (4). The screen presents graphical distortion (it
never happens), intense crashes and sometimes it is solved with the
automatic suspension of the computer (which remains on at times). But
it doesn't usually come back from the crash.

The problem happens with the onboard ATI RADEON 3000 (RS780 driver)
and it happens in both xorg and wayland. Ubuntu and kernel duly
  updated to the present date.

Crash moment: WebGL 1.0.2 Test (test 4/20); "Loading
  scene_uv2.DAE"

  Benchmark website: https://web.basemark.com/
  Motherboard: GA78LMT
  Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
  Kernel 5.8.0-50-generic

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1926048] [NEW] [GA-78LMT-USB3 6.0, ATI RS690/780 HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] No sound at all

2021-04-24 Thread sepukkuhero
Public bug reported:

The HDMI audio on the onboard ATI RADEON 3000 (RS780 driver, GA78LMT
motherboard) does not work without tweaks in GRUB.

Expected behavior: sound working over HDMI.

Real behavior: no sound at all.

Solution: I installed "GRUB Customizer" and put the following command in
the kernel parameter (which I found after a lot of research): "quiet
splash radeon.audio = 1"

This needs to be resolved urgently, it can alienate novice users.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1926050] [NEW] Web benchmark freezing and crashing the system

2021-04-24 Thread sepukkuhero
Public bug reported:

Expected behavior: perform the "Basemark Web 3.0" benchmark, at most a
loss of performance.

Real behavior: the benchmark completely crashes the system in one of the
initial stages (4). The screen presents graphical distortion (it never
happens), intense crashes and sometimes it is solved with the automatic
suspension of the computer (which remains on at times). But it doesn't
usually come back from the crash.

The problem happens with the onboard ATI RADEON 3000 (RS780 driver) and
it happens in both xorg and wayland. Ubuntu and kernel duly updated to
the present date.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1916948] [NEW] AMD. Extreme slowness in xorg after upgrading to the 5.8.0-44-generic kernel (Ubuntu 20.04.2)

2021-02-25 Thread sepukkuhero
Public bug reported:

UBUNTU 20.04.2 updated until 02/25/2021

5.8.0-44-generic kernel

xorg version: 1:7.7+19ubuntu14

I expected to have a minimally acceptable performance, just as it was
before the update.

The problem only happens in sessions with XORG, either through the GNOME
or UBUNTU session. The screen is extremely slow, with a slight increase
in the temperature of components like CPU, nothing too serious. The
animations are very slow and everything takes a long time to open or
load, absurdly.

The problem does not happen in the Wayland session.

  5.8.0-44-generic kernel

  xorg version: 1:7.7+19ubuntu14

I expected to have a minimally acceptable performance, just as it was
  before the update.

The problem only happens in sessions with XORG, either through the
GNOME or UBUNTU session. The screen is extremely slow, with a slight
increase in the temperature of components like CPU, nothing too
serious. The animations are very slow and everything takes a long time
  to open or load, absurdly.

The problem does not happen in the Wayland session.
