I'm unable to play any sounds. I've tried a few sound methods.
- The builtin realtek ALC892 on the motherboard (used for filing this
bug) via both the rear port and the front headphone port
- Buying a cheap usb stick with some internet reviews that it works on
linux
I can confirm that this is also happening in the latest version of
Ubuntu 15.10.

network-manager crashes when using libnl-3-200-3.21.1-1ubuntu1
Could you share a little technical background on how the BIOS could
affect what seems to be a problem manifested either in X or the Intel
display driver? I'm not saying it couldn't play a role, but it seems
extremely likely that the problem lies in one of those places.

Why was this closed? The following entries -near the end of this bug -

Changing the resolution with xrandr has not been successful in bringing
the cursor back recently, but attempting to switch to another user (and
then returning to the original session) DOES cause the cursor to
reappear. This at least gives me a workaround (and hopefully hints at a
fix).

Not good state of affairs for the new LTS. 3.0 needs to be part of the
release, I also think an exception should be made.

I have just started using xenial to prep our own software for the
release. I was shocked that CV 3.0 is not installed. Surely this
should be an exception to the feature freeze as already suggested,
having to keep installing from source would be a huge pain.

Could you please expand on "Then re-chown your current systemd cgroup"?
I'm not sure exactly how/where cgroups get mounted, so I'm not sure what
path I should chown.

Switching the linode system to the Ubuntu kernel (booted via pv-grub)
didn't make that system fail. Perhaps the difference is cgroup setup via
ssh vs XFCE/GUI login?

I have 2 Xenial systems. They are both fully up-to-date as of 5 minutes

to use LXC from a GUI terminal. The other system is a linode that I
access via ssh, and LXC works fine there. I believe I've configured the
