[Touch-packages] [Bug 1940458] Re: Audio Device not recognized. Problem with sound.
After last Ubuntu Updates,I can watch now the HDMI/DisplayPort2, but when you go to Ubuntu Settings in Sound options (watch the screenshot attached in this comment), you can watch the HDMI/DisplayPort 2 and the config Salida Digital Estereo (Stereo Digital Output). If you change the config Stereo to HDMI 7.1 (I only have a stereo Speakers not 7.1 speakers), the config setting disappear in the Ubuntu Settings Menu and you can't select it again and you can't change it (check the screenshot). If you try to select HDMI/DisplayPort 2 it doesn't work because the 7.1 sound was selected and I have got a stereo speakers. To fix it I have opened pulse audio (check the other Screenshot attached) and in the top setting, GP102 HDMI Audio set the setting "Stereo Digital Output (HDMI2)". After that the sound was recovered. I don't know if the correct detection of the sound cards when switching on the PC was fixed or not. You will check if this part is fixed now with the last Ubuntu Updates. Thank you. ** Attachment added: "Screenshoot1.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1940458/+attachment/5518804/+files/Screenshoot1.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940458 Title: Audio Device not recognized. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1888120] Re: Headphones detected like Speakers and Volume Problem
In Windows and in some games, you have got the option to select the sound output. For example, you can select headphones (auriculares in spanish) and the sound is lower to not damage your ears. The other option is to select speakers (altavoces in spanish), and in that case the sound is higher. I don't know if Ubuntu has got the same option in the kernel or if in Linux, maybe in Linux speakers and headphones are the same, and the output volume you obtain it's equal and indifferent. If it is, you can close the bug. Thank you. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1888120 Title: Headphones detected like Speakers and Volume Problem Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I bought a Kyus Headphones, this model exactly: https://www.pccomponentes.com/krom-kyus-auriculares-gaming and when I go to Settings/Sound in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, I can watch Speakers - USB Audio Device, not Headphones. In Windows if the system detect the headphones like speakers, the sound is louder and upset, I think that Ubuntu should have a similar problem. Another problem is the control volume. When I change the volume using a key combination to up volume and down volume. If I up the volume when I have got 0 level, the volume doesn't ear in the two first steps that I pulsed UP volume. Other problem is, that if I press up volume it change a lot with only one press of up volume. This generate the situation of volume too low and when press up, the volume is too high. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1548783] Re: Spanish surnames incorrectly imported and discarded
I was about to translate "Middle name" to Spanish and found a fundamental problem with the "middle name". In Spanish, we have at least a first name and two family names (father's and mother's). Middle name is not a family name, but a second name. So, let's have a contact that was added with the old version of the app, only allowing the first family name, e.g. Pau Gasol. To add the second last name with the new version of the app, the middle name field must be added, and then we have: "Pau" "Gasol". And to be displayed properly, we must move "Gasol" to middle name and write "Sáez" in the last name field. IMHO, middle name is not a proper alternative for a second last name field that should appear after last name one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to address-book-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1548783 Title: Spanish surnames incorrectly imported and discarded Status in Canonical System Image: Fix Committed Status in Ubuntu UX: New Status in address-book-app package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: In Spain it is customary to have two surnames, both necessary for legal effects. Go through first-start wizard 4. Pass tutorial 5. Directly launch camera-app, approve trust-prompt Repeat 1-5 multiple times and you will see a frozen device after step 5. You can verify it happened due to a kernel panic mentioned in comment #7. You can reset the trust db entry for the camera app using : $rm -rf ~/.local/share/CameraService $restart cameraservice-trust-stored Run the following to get the command line for all threads so you can match the pid from the kmsg later (see below): ps H -eo 'pid tid cmd:250 comm' To verify it was really the kernel panic run $ sudo cat /proc/last_kmsg once the device has rebooted.
