I have done so, as you suggested in #5. It works.
If newest Xubuntu does not use it any more, then we can just close this
ticket :) Thanks

Public bug reported:
After performing all upgrades and installing some extra packages (gimp,
unattended updates, libreoffice, vino, openssh) and purging some other
(gnumeric, abiword) on fresh install I've started suffering strange
graphical issues (glitches) - see the attached screenshots.
Hmm... when I removed 2 additional DDR RAM modules (out of 4), being
said, leaving just the original two, glitches do not appear.
Interresting on this is that I let memtest+ running overnight with all 4
modules for 17 hours and... no error at all.
Weird. Need some more tests.

I would like to post it, but the computer is now located outside of my

I suggest closing this, because the PC is out of my physical reach now.
If you really want to have (need) that debug info, I can do it for you,
otherwise let's close it... Thanks!

Hi there, during hibernation I see some strange messages, but OK,
hibernation is not officially supported.
The problem is, that I've got errors in system log (dmesg) even without
any hibernation, just normal boot from powered-off computer.
Here is what I've got:

This problem is still valid and unresolved, I attach a fresh screenshot.
Any ideas why this could be?
May it be because of the encrypted /home?
Or... ??
Thanks

I do not know what has happened and/or when, but it seems to work now. I
haven't done anything special, just some regular basis updates

Unfortunatelly, in my case, the workaround described works only for

ending-up with a login screen like if I had just locked the desktop.

After upgrading to 16.10 (from 16.04) hibernation has stopped working.
I've been using hibernation for years already without problems (with
some initial tuning).
I am talking about using "pm-hibernate"
There is a workaround to make it work I've described here:
Public bug reported:
I am unable to login in non-graphic terminal (e.g. tty1) ending with
"Login incorrect" all the time because password prompt does not wait for
user input.
Steps to reproduce:
1) switch to non-graphical terminal (tty1) with CTRL+ALT+F1
2) you see prompt for login ("login:")
3)
[SOLVED]
I've found out what's the problem.
The issue is caused by SafeEyes (https://slgobinath.github.io/SafeEyes/)
- after disabling them everything works as expected...

Another piece of information:
It seems to be broken only once - at the first time. When I do the workaround
and let it go blank again, no need to repeat it - just once every fresh boot
seems to be enough. Weird...
