Public bug reported: I am currently using Cosmic (which is not released yet) and version 0.131ubuntu10 of "initramfs-tools" always generates unbootable initrd. After I select the kernel to boot during GRUB it says: "Loading initial ramdisk... Error: Out of memory". And then it halts forever.
