[Touch-packages] [Bug 1686081] Re: If -synaptics is installed, GNOME Mouse & Touchpad Settings doesn't work
Hm, some things you should not do in the middle of the night. :-( I have tried your code again today. It does work! Touchpad works fine, settings are available. Yesterday, doing a simple copy, I did miss the linebrake after the end of the first line here in the launchpad code (same in the email). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1686081] Re: If -synaptics is installed, GNOME Mouse & Touchpad Settings doesn't work
Hi, I just upgraded from 17.04 to 17.10. I m running my ubuntu in Xorg mode. After the upgrade (Dell Laptop with an Alps touchpad) there are no touchpad settings available at all (see attached screenshot). The touchpad would work though, but I could not disable it at all. Pressing the Function-key+F3 would show the on-screen symbol of the disabled touchpad, but it wouldn't disable the touchpad. At the moment I am using a bash script that is utilizing "xinput --disable $device" to enable/disable the touchpad. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot of mouse/touchpad settings page" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/artful/+source/xorg/+bug/1686081/+attachment/5045199/+files/Screenshot_no_touchpad_settings.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1686081 Title: If -synaptics is installed, GNOME Mouse & Touchpad Settings doesn't work Status in Release Notes for Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in xubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in xorg source package in Artful: Confirmed Status in xubuntu-meta source package in Artful: Fix Released Bug description: I'm splitting this issue off from LP: #1685542 (which made xserver- xorg-input-all no longer recommend xserver-xorg-input-synaptics) for tracking the remaining issues. gnome-control-center only supports libinput. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1649419] Re: unable to install apps from ubuntu store
Yes, "com.canonical.payui_payui" is still visible under settings. I have attached a partial screenshot. Maybe something is not as it is supposed to be and I will have to take the time for a clean reinstall of Ubuntu Touch on my phone. Probabely something is wrong with my phone. So i might do that first instead of filing a new bug that is only a single phone problem. Thanks a lot anyway for your suggestion of where to file the bug. I am always a bit lost with that. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1649419] Re: unable to install apps from ubuntu store
Hi Alberto, I did delete my UbunuOne account and tried to install two random apps. The good news is - yep - they are installed! :-) The bad news is, they do not show up on the home sceen. :-( Please see the attached screenshots. In the store the apps are marked as installed, but, being sorted in alphabetical order, they are not shown on the home screen. For the reason why my account was disabled I now do have an explanation. On the account settings I had disabled the access to the account for "com.canonical.payui_payui". I did this to avoid accidently installing apps that do cost money. With the newly created account, after deleting the other one, it was enabled. Installing apps worked. With access of payui disabled you can not install apps any more. Sorry about that. Hi Alberto, it took some playing around, because I have never before used the phablet-shell. But I did get something out of it in the end. ;-) I had to copy/paste the content of the terminal, because I could not find the oa.log file. Well, I did just unplug the phone to stop logging not knowing any better. Hopefully there is still something useful in there for you! I did not get past the point where I had to press "install" in the store. When I hit that button nothing happend on the phone but text appeared in the terminal (as attached). When pressing "install" again, it would only give me that error message wich you can see at the bottom three times. Do you think it might be worth trying to delete the UbuntuOne account? I do hope that does help at least a little bit. If you need anything else please let me know. Recently I was taking some photos with my BQ E5. On the first couple of photos I did get the normal shutter sound. After I think maybe 3 or 4 photos there was no shutter sound any more. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1407921] Re: Indicator should give feedback when location-service is in use by apps
Hi Matthew, I am aware of that. But Location turned on/off and GPS turned on/off is not the same. At least that is what I was experiencing and what I tried to describe. Without me touching the location settings (turned off) GPS (visible under Battery) could be turned on (without me turning it on). Because that happened to me I am not sure if internally the same ist still going on but now with the GPS button gone I can not find out. I suppose it would do the job to make sure, that if location is turned off GPS definitly is turned of as well. By the way there is no option for location services only based network triagulation but without GPS, right? I wonder if that would be usefull to get you a rough position for Here Maps but you would not have to turn on GPS wich would for instance reduce battery life. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to indicator-location in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1407921 Title: Indicator should give feedback when location-service is in use by apps Status in Canonical System Image: In Progress Status in Indicator Location: New Status in Ubuntu theme: Fix Committed Status in Ubuntu UX: Triaged Status in indicator-location package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: The only information the location indicator icon conveys currently is whether location detection is enabled at all, when more data could be interesting. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1407921] Re: Indicator should give feedback when location-service is in use by apps
With OTA 10.1 on my BQ E5 GPS did turn itself on every now and so on - without me turning locationservices on, that was still off. I could not find a pattern to it at the time. That was of course reducing battery lifetime. On OTA 10.1 the GPS on/off button was still available under the battery settings, that's how I found out about it. With OTA 11 this button has disappeared, so I do sometimes wonder if internally GPS is still turned on occasionally (and apps could be able to use location-services?) but now I do not have any way to find out. So, yes with the indicator showing GPS usage that would solve that problem as well. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1560373] Re: network indicator shows no connection but browser works
I do actually experience the opposite behaviour. The indicator shows the network connection to be turned on ("H" symbol + "R" symbol) but I do actually not get network access. Textsecure, Browser, Weather-App, ... do not connect to the internet. I have to admit, that at work I am sort of in the middle between 2G and 3G range (thick walls). So the phone keeps switching between the two. That happened with my old phone as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to indicator-network in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1560373 Title: network indicator shows no connection but browser works Status in Canonical System Image: Confirmed Status in indicator-network package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Using nexus 4, wifi is disabled /bearer# system-image-cli -i current build number: 391 device name: mako channel: ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/ubuntu last update: 2016-03-16 13:49:10 version version: 391 version ubuntu: 20160316 version device: 20160315 version custom: 20160316 The network indicator shows no connection. route -n says rmnet_usb1 is default. nmcli c says ril_0 context2 is connected, and browser works ~# route -n Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric RefUse Iface 0.0.0.0 10.65.67.1010.0.0.0 UG60000 rmnet_usb1 10.65.67.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 60000 rmnet_usb1 ~# nmcli c NAME UUID TYPE DEVICE /505025500612657/context2 e1a9ae5f-e7f7-cc00-54ed-cb6806086620 gsm ril_0 /505025500612657/context1 c56a0ac7-b8b6-8d66-7e7f-6da831c64ea8 gsm -- llkcr2 bc7eb95d-1ff0-4f64-b6ea-f63084914945 802-11-wireless -- BIGPOND1DE4bfcaf5ac-262e-4c7d-9998-d421022aef18 802-11-wireless -- TV 1 ea55c5bd-9156-4283-aade-2b615a352f1a 802-11-wireless -- TV 824802a9-9492-44dd-bc8c-01e0b34f8abc 802-11-wireless -- llkcr 96382cce-f023-434f-97ee-b1b6c4103b20 802-11-wireless -- OPTUSDN1E578A 69e23365-40a4-4c7b-a999-7d568fb5d9f5 802-11-wireless -- Telstra1708f6d10847-fa02-4a49-9644-89f9f9d3e935 802-11-wireless -- ~# nmcli d DEVICE TYPE STATECONNECTION ril_0gsm connected/505025500612657/context2 wlan0wifi unavailable -- dummy0 dummy unmanaged-- rev_rmnet0 ethernet unmanaged-- rev_rmnet1 ethernet unmanaged-- rev_rmnet2 ethernet unmanaged-- rev_rmnet3 ethernet unmanaged-- rev_rmnet4 ethernet unmanaged-- rev_rmnet5 ethernet unmanaged-- rev_rmnet6 ethernet unmanaged-- rev_rmnet7 ethernet unmanaged-- rev_rmnet8 ethernet unmanaged-- rmnet0 ethernet unmanaged-- rmnet1 ethernet unmanaged-- rmnet2 ethernet unmanaged-- rmnet3 ethernet unmanaged-- rmnet4 ethernet unmanaged-- rmnet5 ethernet unmanaged-- rmnet6 ethernet unmanaged-- rmnet7 ethernet unmanaged-- rmnet_smux0 ethernet unmanaged-- lo loopback unmanaged-- sit0 unknown unmanaged-- To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1560373/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1440111] Re: [calendar] Reminder notifications are not integrated into system notifications
@charlesk - post from 2016-02-04 Uhm, I hope you don't mind the question, but why should clock alarms override silent mode? I did actually file this behavior as a bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-clock-app/+bug/1542889). Silent mode should be silent regardless of the action coming up. Or maybe you should be able to choose which actions are allowed to override silent mode? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to indicator-datetime in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1440111 Title: [calendar] Reminder notifications are not integrated into system notifications Status in Canonical System Image: In Progress Status in Ubuntu Calendar App: Fix Committed Status in Ubuntu UX: Fix Committed Status in indicator-datetime package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: The calendar app does not use the standard notification system. You can't find it in the "Notifications" area of System Settings, and it uses its own notification sound regardless of what is set in "Sound". Also, reminders are not muted when the phone is in silent mode (I guess it's related). I'm on bq Aquaris, r20 and with the latest calendar-app. --- --- --- --- UX Comment: Calendar Notifications need to be overhauled: -- Calendar Notifications are displayed for too brief a period and should conform to the same timing as other notifications. -- Calendar Notifications are not currently appearing in the notification tray within indicators and should be. -- Calendar Notification title is misleading ('Alarm') and should make clear that the notification relates to a calendar event ('Event') and not a alarm-clock event. -- Calendar Notification's should NOT override silent mode (unlike clock-alarms) although the notification should still be displayed, appear in the notification within indicators and cause the device to vibrate (if enabled) - This is accepted/common behaviour for notifications of this type on mobile.
