Logitech Marble Mouse no longer works on upgrde to 22.04.1 LTS

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  1. In 20.04 LTS I had configured the Marble Mouse by adding 39 conf
  etc according to
  https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Logitech_Marblemouse_USB

  2. On upgrade to 22.04.1 LTS, these no longer work. The edits etc are
still in place but the Marble Mouse buttons I configured previously
are not working. Expected behavior is they should still work.

I marked it invalid for Ubuntu One SSO because it is NOT an Ubuntu One
SSO issue. The systemd task is still filed/active, for that project's
bug triagers to look at.

We are seeing an issue with installation of dkms package during a

clean. This is very bad for curtin as it saves critical installation
  files in /tmp.

It turns out that it's the of upgrading libc6, which is triggered as a
result of installing dependencies, that removes content of /tmp. For
example, installation of gcc results in the same result since it ends
up with libc6 being upgraded. The only way that this won't be
recreated is if the latest libc6 is already installed.

This problem does not exist in precise. It can also be recreated by
installing the .deb file for any version in trusty including 2.17.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1432484] Re: ctrl+alt+t hot key doesn't open terminal

2015-06-08 Thread Daniel Manrique
Interesting, I just found (while trying to lock my screen) that ctrl-
alt-l also doesn't work. I tried reassigning to ctrl-alt-t (i.e. the
other shortcut I know is wonky) and it didn't work. But if I assign lock
screen to ctrl-alt-a, it works. Setting it back to ctrl-alt-l makes it
stop working again.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1432484] Re: ctrl+alt+t hot key doesn't open terminal

2015-06-08 Thread Daniel Manrique
This bug should probably be reopened:

1- The person who said it wasn't happening anymore (newuser) is *not* the
original reporter, who has said it's still happening (comment #11).
2- It's also happening to me :)

This is a fresh Vivid installation where I dist-upgraded and rebooted a
couple of times. Also redefined the shortcut in question by going to
system settings - keyboard - shortcuts, and assigning a different
shortcut to Launch terminal. I found that pretty much any other
shortcut (I tried ctrl-T and ctrl-alt-Y) works. It's *only* ctrl-alt-T
that doesn't work.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1449626] Re: /usr/lib/powerpc64le-linux-gnu/libxslt.so.1: invalid ELF header

2015-04-30 Thread Daniel Manrique
Mike reported that this was gone after a reinstall. It looks like some
corruption happens at some point, and intermittently. I'll set this to
invalid as it looks like libxslt is not to blame.

Thanks for the help figuring this out, Steve and Brian!

Bug description:
  CID: 201306-13869 Dell Inspiron 7737

The power indicator on this system only appears after you connect or
  disconnect it from the adapter.

After it appears, reboot it will make the indicator disappear again.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1134069] Re: [HP Envy 4 Sleekbook] external audio jacks are reversed

2014-11-19 Thread Daniel Manrique
Hello Sam,

Hey, could you perhaps try a newer Ubuntu release on this system and see
if this is still a problem?

Also, could you check if the system in question is an engineering
sample? if so, perhaps it *is* inverted internally due to it being a
preproduction system.

Thanks!

Title:
[HP Envy 4 Sleekbook] external audio jacks are reversed

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Looking at the outside of the system, the external audio jacks are in
  this order:

  Mic ___Headphone ___

However, on testing, it appears that they are either mislabled, or the
outputs are reversed internally. I had to plug the headphones into
the Mic jack to hear sound, and plug the mic into the headphone jack
  to record sound.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1349927] [NEW] qmlscene doesn't work on 14.04 and 14.04.1 without installing qt5-default

2014-07-29 Thread Daniel Manrique
Public bug reported:

On 14.04, 14.04.1 and utopic (as of 2014-07-29), qmlscene doesn't work
:(

Steps to reproduce:

1- Boot a live CD image for 14.04, 14.04.1 or 14.10 in try without installing
mode.
2- Open a terminal
3- apt-get install qmlscene
3- qmlscene

Expected result:
- Qmlscene launches and shows a file chooser to open a qml file

Actual result: Error message:

qmlscene: could not exec '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt4/bin/qmlscene':
No such file or directory

Now, qmlscene gets installed in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/qt5/bin/qmlscene. The binary in the path is /usr/bin/qmlscene which
is symlinked to qtchooser. Interestingly, this symlink exists even if
qmlscene is not actually installed, which is doubly confusing.

Qtchooser apparently looks at config files in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/qtchooser/, and in here I can see:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 50 Mar 12 10:09 4.conf -
../../../share/qtchooser/qt4-x86_64-linux-gnu.conf
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 50 May 12 05:44 5.conf -
../../../share/qtchooser/qt5-x86_64-linux-gnu.conf
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 50 Mar 12 10:09 qt4.conf -
../../../share/qtchooser/qt4-x86_64-linux-gnu.conf
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 50 May 12 05:44 qt5.conf -
../../../share/qtchooser/qt5-x86_64-linux-gnu.conf

but apparently there's no default.conf so qtchooser falls back to qt4,
even though qt5 is installed.

If I install the qt5-default package, then a default.conf file is
created in this directory pointing to /usr/share/qtchooser/qt5-x86_64
-linux-gnu.conf, which correctly instructs qtchooser to use qt5
binaries. The problem with qt5-default is that it's described as a
metapackage for development defaults, and indeed, it depends on about 60
MB of -dev packages which shouldn't be needed if all I want is to run
qmlscene with a qml file.

A way to make qmlscene work (maybe by adding the proper dependencies to
the qmlscene package), or with the installation of a single, smallish
package instead of a set of unrelated stuff, would be useful.
