[Touch-packages] [Bug 1840639] [NEW] Version 3.0.3 breaks lxc-usernsexec

2019-08-19 Thread George Shuklin
Public bug reported:

Affected version: 3.0.3
Last working version: 3.0.1

Upgrade from 3.0.1 to 3.0.3 for lxc packages breaks lxc-usernsexec with

Steps to reproduce:

Set up 3.0.1 lxc to work. (lxc-usernsexec whoami should show 'root')
Upgrade to 3.0.3
Run lxc-usernsexec whoami

Expected result: root
Actual result: Failed to find subuid or subgid allocation

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1758380] [NEW] unpriveleged containers no longer could start due to start.c: lxc_spawn: 1555 Failed initializing cgroup support

2018-03-23 Thread George Shuklin
Public bug reported:

After upgrade from xenial to bionic (beta) I no longer could start
unpriveleged containers, they failed with following message:

lxc-start: test: start.c: lxc_spawn: 1555 Failed initializing cgroup support

   lxc-start: test: start.c: __lxc_start: 1868 Failed to
spawn container "test"

 The container failed to start.
Additional information can be obtained by setting the --logfile and
--logpriority options.

Moreover, I could see this in auth log:

Mar 23 18:21:46 host sudo: PAM unable to dlopen(pam_cgfs.so):
/lib/security/pam_cgfs.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
Mar 23 18:21:46 host sudo: PAM adding faulty module: pam_cgfs.so

I have installed libpam-cgfs, but it provides only /lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/security/pam_cgfs.so

Moreover, if I create a symlink from /lib/security/pam_cgfs.so to
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/security/pam_cgfs.so it fails with follwing
message:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1748843] [NEW] resolvonf unable to finish installation if 'no changes to resolv.conf' selected

2018-02-12 Thread George Shuklin
Public bug reported:

I answered 'no changes to resolv.conf' to dpkg configuration question (I
have maximum verbosity for dpkg).

resolvconf is unable to finish installation:

it.

   Affected packages: resolvconf:amd64

UPD: I've changed answer to 'yes' and installation was finished. But the bug is
still valid.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1714764] [NEW] Excessive dependency on gnome-session-canberra

2017-09-03 Thread George Shuklin
Public bug reported:

ubuntu-desktop package depends on gnome-session-canberra package in such
a way that it's impossible to remove gnome-session-canberra without
removing ubuntu-desktop. This is wrong, as aforementioned package
contains only few loud sounds to be played at system start, and is not
an essential part of Ubuntu Desktop.

I think it should be in 'recommends' section, not in 'depends'.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1714763] [NEW] No way to disable system startup sound

2017-09-03 Thread George Shuklin
Public bug reported:

Package gnome-session-canberra contains
/usr/share/gdm/autostart/LoginWindow/libcanberra-ready-sound.desktop
file, which plays extremely annoying drum sound at every boot.

This is a problem (at least for me, but I think for many others), and
there is no way to disable this without changing package-provided files.
Moreover, this package (gnome-session-canberra) couldn't be removed
without breaking ubuntu-desktop package (I'll file separate bugreport
for this).

Propose: Create a way do disable those sounds in a user-available way.
The simplest way I can propose is to mark
/usr/share/gdm/autostart/LoginWindow/libcanberra-ready-sound.desktop as
conffile, which will keep user changes in this file during package
upgrade.

More user-friendly (visible) changes would be appreciated too, but
conffile should, at least, give some way to manage loud 'blam-blam' at
boot.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1639776] Re: dnsmasq fails to send queries out after suspend disconnects the interface

2017-02-22 Thread George Shuklin
I dig a bit around and found that this bug affects installation where
network interface is connected through USB. PCI-devices are not
affected.

Symptom: if computer suspends and resumes, 'ip link' command shows
increased interface number (1,2,3,4,...,11,etc).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1646813] Re: ssh (client) stucks in an endless loop with 100% CPU

2016-12-03 Thread George Shuklin
Yes, exactly. ssh was asked for password auth and wasn't able to ask
password from local keyboard. But this shouldn't cause it to hung
forever with 100% CPU.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1646813] Re: ssh (client) stucks in an endless loop with 100% CPU

2016-12-02 Thread George Shuklin
I was able to debug issue. It happens when 'timeout 120 ssh' is run
without --foreground option for timeout and remote server is asking for
password. timeout without --foreground, when run from the script will
block all input from stdin, which cause ssh to hangs in the loop.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1611253] [NEW] No dependency on urfkill

2016-08-09 Thread George Shuklin
Public bug reported:

After recent upgrade network manager stops to work with WiFi network. It
was fixed by manually installing urfkill. It was never installed on my
ubuntu (Raring installation with following upgrades).

I believe urfkill should be added to NM dependencies to avoid breaking
existing software.

Title:
Simultaneous BT headphones and mouse connection cause audio lag

Status in bluez package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
If bluetooth mouse connected after headphones (external BT audio
speaker), sound getting laggy (sometimes interrupts and not in sync
with video). If connection order is reverse (mouse, than audio)
problem is much lesser visible (rare glitches and almost fine sync in
  video), but still annoying.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 913839] Re: tether over bluetooth - regression in precise

2014-10-23 Thread George Shuklin
Actually, on recent versions (trusty/utopic) tethering works and IP
obtained via bnep0. I think this bug should be or closed, or restricted
to some versions.

My nm package version is 0.9.8.8-0ubuntu28 and it works.

tether over bluetooth - regression in precise

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “network-manager” package in Fedora:
  Unknown

Bug description:
I've had dial-up networking via bluetooth working between my CR-48 and
  Blackberry 9800 for several months.

Recent Precise update (sometime around the last couple of weeks of
2011) appear to have broken the ability to tether over bluetooth in
this manner. I have completely removed the bluetooth connection and
re-paired the devices from scratch, but it does not work.

Other bluetooth functionality appears to work fine. i.e. I can send
files from the laptop to the phone without issue.

Here's what I see in syslog:
