[Touch-packages] [Bug 1873574] Re: Cannot enable repository source

2020-04-19 Thread Hadrien
When I exit software-properties-gtk, suspend/resume my computer and log-
in back, I have the expected popup on the top-left of the screen. I
cannot exit this popup, neither by pressing the Cancel button, and
neither by entering my password and pressing the authenticate button.

I need to log off and log in again to make the popup disappear.

Title:
journald log seems to grow without limit

Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This ticket is more related to the default configuration of journald
in Ubuntu, not to a bug in journald itself.

I was looking for a problem on my computer and used journalctl. The
first log entry was starting 2 years ago, showing that its content was
  never erased or rotated.

By looking at the log size, it was about 3 GB, which is getting big
  for a log file.

I think Ubuntu should ship with a default configuration to avoid this
  log to grow too much.

I started with Ubuntu 18.04 and now I am using Ubuntu 20.04

Title:
A good amount of pulseaudio modules can't be loaded

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I'm running ubuntu 18.04, and I've verified that this is true on two
different installs (one fresh, one updated from 16.04).

I wanted to load three modules from pulseaudio (module-ladspa-sink,
module-loopback, module-null-sink), but it kept saying "Failure on
  module initialization"

I listed the available modules with "pactl list modules" but none of
  the three were listed.

They still seem to be there in /usr/lib/pulse-12.2/modules/ .

Am I forgetting something? Why can't I load them? Why are they not listed?

I'm running ubuntu 18.04, and I've verified that this is true on two
different installs (one fresh, one updated from 16.04).

I wanted to load three modules from pulseaudio (module-ladspa-sink,
module-loopback, module-null-sink), but it kept saying "Failure on
  module initialization"

I listed the available modules with "pactl list modules" but none of
  the three were listed.

They still seem to be there in /usr/lib/pulse-12.2/modules/ .

Am I forgetting something? Why can't I load them? Why are they not listed?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1802584] Re: A good amount of pulseaudio modules can't be loaded

2018-11-12 Thread Hadrien Titeux
It's done.

I did however fix the problem so the information you'll get isn't exact.
I used this thread: https://github.com/wwmm/pulseeffects/issues/365

(so basically removing the pulseaudio binary and doing a reinstall)

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1633751] Re: No login prompt when waking up the computer from suspend

2016-10-16 Thread Hadrien
'sudo systemctl suspend' works fine and I m prompted for my password on
wake-up.

When I voluntarily ask the computer, it's ok too.

I tried to reproduce the same conditions than when the bug occurred: I
was watching a flash video in my web browser, and flash does not disable
screen power off nor sleep mode when a video is playing.

Unfortunately I did not reproduce the bug. If I encounter the bug again
I will add more information here, hopefully I will find the conditions
that led to the bug (I only saw it once but my Ubuntu 16.10 installation
is fresh).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1633749] [NEW] Double login to switch back to my session after closing the guest session

2016-10-15 Thread Hadrien
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 16.10 x64

  * I have my session open and want to temporarily switch to the guest session.
I click on the appropriate item (top right menu of Unity).
  * I am now on the guest session. After I'm done, I close the guest session.
  * I am now in front of a screen where I can input my password to go back to
my session. The wallpaper is the default Ubuntu wallpaper as when I am not
logged in.
  * After I validate my password, another screen is displayed that asks my
again to enter my password. That time, the wallpaper is my personnal wallpaper
I have in my session.
  * I enter my password again and I am back to my session.

I did not have to enter my password twice in previous versions of Ubuntu

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1405001] Re: Gstreamer 1.0 has missing core elements

2014-12-26 Thread Hadrien Titeux
Ok, found the fix on an partially related AskUbuntu question. I just had
to empty the gst1.0 cache:

rm -r ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0

And then everything worked. The Ubuntu update tool maybe screwed up at
some point with this.

Gstreamer 1.0 has missing core elements

I wanted to test gstreamer's pipeline functions in command line using

  gst-launch-1.0 filesrc location=mysong.mp3 ! decodebin !
  audioconvert ! alsasink

  And this error came up:

ERROR: pipeline could not be constructed: no element filesrc.

I dug a little through the google searches, and using gstreamer-
inspect1.0, I was able to list all the installed plugins. Amazingly,
*none of the coreelements plugins are present*.

Is there a way to fix this? Is there a packet that might have been
forgotten in the 13.10-14.04 update process?

PS: I have troubles with *all* the gstreamer-dependent application on
my 14.04 install so this is probably related.
