Public bug reported: My headphones stopped playing sound a few days ago, except for the occasional 'pop' when I select them as output.
The laptop speakers still work when they're select as output. I've tried unplugging other devices, rebooting, plugging my headphone jack out and back in. When I plug my headphone into a different laptop running 18.04 they work fine. What's odd to me is that Ubuntu seems eager to select my Yeti Microphone as the output device. The bars under 'Output' and 'Input' both light up when I play sound or snap my fingers.
