It seems that the configuration change is requested just a moment before the device gets removed. The change actions are serialized, depending on where there memory of mir::input::DefaultDevice is allocated the segfault either occurs inside the lambda or inside underlying mir::input::LibInputDevice in the platform. The activities on input dispatch device removal and reconfiguration are serialized inside the input thread, so we just need to clean the action queue (or have multiple queues) before removing the devices. Things get confused about which bus to talk to. [ Fix ] Already fixed in Yakkety. Cherry-pick the upstart job. On top of Yakkety's version, call `dbus-update-activation-environment --verbose --systemd GTK_MODULES', because Xenial does not have the change in upstart to automatically publish to the systemd activation environment. /etc/X11/Xsession.d/95dbus_update-activation-env is called too early - before unity-gtk-module.conf is started - so dbus activated services miss the GTK_MODULES environment variable. Update unity-gtk- module.conf to set it in the dbus activation environment. [ QA ] Install dbus-user-session, press print screen. It should be delayed if you are experiencing this bug, and not delayed otherwise. Remove dbus-user-session, make sure the session still works properly - the global menu works, everything launches properly, etc. Test that gnome-terminal has global menus in both situations. [ Regression potential ] This change alters the way that the session bus is launched, even if you aren't using dbus-user-session. Even though this same change is deployed in ≥ yakkety, be aware of this. In yakkety we have installed dbus-user-session by default, so the case where you don't have it isn't as well tested. I would suggest focusing some testing on the non dbus-user-session case. [ Original report ] After installing the deb (and then the snap), certain things in the unity7 session take a very long time (30 to 60 secs), such as launching chromium and ctrl-alt-t for a new terminal session. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1644323] Re: Installing unity8-session-snap adversely effects unity7
@jibel can we open a new bug, this was about unity7 which seems fixed to me ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to dbus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1644323 Title: Installing unity8-session-snap adversely effects unity7 Status in Canonical System Image: Fix Released Status in dbus package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in unity-gtk-module package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in dbus source package in Xenial: Fix Committed Status in unity-gtk-module source package in Xenial: Fix Committed Bug description: [ Description ] In Xenial, when dbus-user-session is installed, dbus' upstart job still starts a new bus. Removing both the deb and the snap followed by a reboot does not fix the symptoms. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1654722] Re: Ubuntu Touch: No sound on speakers but OK on headset
Everything seems normal to me, that is the same as a working device. I noticed you had played a game, last suggestion is to run the game again and set the volume there. In the past there had been issues where the volume remained muted playing media if sound effects were muted during a game, although that should no longer be the case. and the fact that the headphones work probably rules that out. Otherwise perhaps backup the user data and reflash to rule out hardware. Sorry out of ideas. @jim any thoughts? ** Changed in: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Jim Hodapp (jhodapp) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1654722 Title: Ubuntu Touch: No sound on speakers but OK on headset Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Since a couple of days ago I have lost all sound on the speakers of the phone (no application plays any sound, no ringtones, notifications), but sounds can be heard normally with a headset. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1654722] Re: Ubuntu Touch: No sound on speakers but OK on headset
Can you attach your /var/log/syslog from the time and .cache/upstart/media-hub.log Unfortunately it seems that the speakers are muted at a lower level, or perhaps that the device thinks headphones are enabled. One other thing is to ensure it does not think its paired with a bluetooth audio output device. The output of pacmd list-sink-inputs while playing and while not playing may be interesting. fwiw I don't see any obviously related changes from ota14. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1654722 Title: Ubuntu Touch: No sound on speakers but OK on headset Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Since a couple of days ago I have lost all sound on the speakers of the phone (no application plays any sound, no ringtones, notifications), but sounds can be heard normally with a headset.
