Thanks, Dmitry!

I tried the following which provides me with working keyboard shortcuts in
the app Ghostwriter but which doesn't integrate the menu into the top bar.
Let me ask:

For 16.10 there is no way to have working keyboard shortcuts AND the menu
being integrated into the top bar?

orschiro@x230:~$ dbus-run-session -- ghostwriter

2016-07-29 Thread Robert Orzanna
To add to the above information.

Now, my laptop's speakers are no longer recognised at all as an output
device.

Each time I unplug my external speaker or headphones, the output device
remains "Headphones" in the sound menu. I will attach a screenshot from
alsamixer.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1607190] [NEW] Feature request: activate screensaver, keep access to media player hotkeys

2016-07-27 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Dear all,

Let me share a feature request with you.

Frequently, I start listening to music in Rhythmbox and then use FN + F3
on my keyboard to activate the lockscreen screensaver because it
switches of my screen after a few seconds and thus saves conserves
energy on my laptop.

However, once the screensaver is active, I cannot any longer access my
media player using my hotkeys FN + F10 (backwards), FN + F11

Would it be possible to keep access to these media player hotkeys with

Dear Matthew,

Thanks a lot for your follow-up comment!

> We would have to start maintaining a parallel database that mapped
tzdata zone names, in and out of daylight saving, to their common
abbreviations. Common names would be even harder because they’d need
translating into multiple languages.

The only open point I can read from your comment is actually this one.

How do you suggest to proceed? Would it be worthwhile maintaining a
parallel database and what could the potential contribution of users
look like to this project?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1577414] Re: Adding time zones to locations of indicator-datetime

2016-05-09 Thread Robert Orzanna
Dear Matthew,

Thanks for raising these two issues.

1. The use of time zones instead of city names is very common in meeting
plannings. For instance, I receive frequent invitations to calls that
are expressed in "16:00 EDT time". People in these meetings rarely refer
to their location as a city.

2. This is a good point. Upon user input of, for instance ACT, could the
system detect that there are two with the same name and ask the user to
pick the correct one?
