[Touch-packages] [Bug 1850127] Re: Unable to print with Brother printer since upgrade to Ubuntu 19.10
I could resolve this issue by upgrading the printer firmware to latest version 1.40. No idea, why Ubuntu 19.04 printed happily with older printer firmware, but as of Ubuntu 19.10 new printer firmware (can be installed through printer web interface) is needed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1850127 Title: Unable to print with Brother printer since upgrade to Ubuntu 19.10 Status in cups package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have recently bought a new color laser printer (Brother HL- L8260CDW), which is connected through wLAN. It works like a charm under Ubuntu 19.04, but refuses to print since the upgrade to stock Ubuntu 19.10. I can reach it via ping and through its HTTP config page from the same computer. During my collection of relevant bug information I discovered the following error messages: 1. [Touch-packages] [Bug 918377] Re: UpgradeStatus: in bug-reports wrong
I can confirm, that this bug is still present in Ubuntu 15.10: Upon system start, a crash of 'mediascanner-service-2.0' was reported, and the crash dialog claimed that mediascanner package was never upgraded since Ubuntu 11.04, which was the Ubuntu version originally installed when I got my laptop. Obviously I did all the upgrades all the way up to 15.10 in the meantime, and synaptic confirmed that the 15.10 version of mediascanner-2.0 is installed. The file /usr/bin/mediascanner- service-2.0 is shown in the contents of mediascanner-2.0 package, and the actual file shows a change date of September 2015, so it obviously didn't come with Ubuntu 11.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apport in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/918377 Title: UpgradeStatus: in bug-reports wrong Status in apport package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I filled a new bug with ubuntu-bug (lp:918371) and i think the information collected from apport about the "UpgradeStatus" is not correct. it's written: UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-01-13 (4 days ago) but i upgraded to precise in 2011-12 and did the last "apt-get upgrade" 1 hour ago. What does "UpgradeStatus" mean? Maybe this is a question if the UpgradeStatus: i correct.
