Any news about this?!
The vim is still very bad on Ubuntu 20.04.
Any recommendation for a better /etc/vim/* ?

So, nobody will look into this anymore (apparently), are we moving to
systemd's networkd (16.04) to "fix" this? I'm so tired of ifupdown...

I created the following NM hook:

Guys,
I started to use Vivid with systemd yesterday, and today, my system
froze due to lack of ram memory (my problem, obviously).
I tried to reboot it, without success... The reboot command did not
succeed. I tried to reboot by clicking on Unity menu, didn't worked
either.
BTW, I just upgraded my Vivid running on top of a Macbook Air, with
systemd again, it booted really fast! now!
Systemd boot isn't slow anymore.
I'll try to push my system to a out of arm state again, to see what
happens.
Thanks!

I just upgraded my Macbook Air running Vivid / OSX.
With upstart, it boots in about 2 seconds (SSD disc).
With systemd, it takes an eternity to boot!
Also, the shutdown is much slower when with systemd = PID1.
I prefer upstart, so, I'm removing this systemd-sysv thing out of my
site.

Hey guys!
This problem still exists on Ubuntu Vivid!
Come on! Ubuntu Desktop is near useless on a network with IPv6 + SLAAC
with Routers in H.A. When the main router dies, the slave router becomes
active (radvd) but, all Ubuntu Desktops (Gnome / Unity) doesn't see the
new IPv6 router. While
It is unbelievable that this problem was already fixed in `gnome-bugs
#692279` and still not fixed here in Ubuntu.
This is very, very annoying.
Please guys, do something about this.
Thanks in advance.

IPv6 static default route added
Guys,
This BUG is still present on Ubuntu 14.04.1, look:
---
user@desk-1:~$ ip -6 route
2001:129X:2bX:Xfff::/64 dev wlan0 proto kernel metric 256 expires 85937sec
fe80::/64 dev wlan0 proto kernel metric 256
default via fe80:::b3ff:fe4b:20f4 dev wlan0 proto static metric 1#
As a great workaround, I stopped using VLAN interfaces like eth0.X,
and now I'm using it like this vlanX... It is working better (still no
not free of problems).

BTW, `ifupdown` is terrible to manage IPv6 address, specially when with
VLANs... We need a completely new approach to manage IPs on
Ubuntu/Debian, the time of `ifupdown` is over.
I like the syntax of `interfaces` file but, its implementation
(ifupdown) is far from ideal.
