Thanks for help, Zakatell. I started to install 4.6.0 version and this operation was finished, but I saw error messages about nvidia-361 driver while kernel installation. Then I researched that there are bug present and traked in launchpad. 1) Noise appeared again after wake up my laptop (editing alsa-base.conf approach) 2) I tried to run patch with command patch < /tmp/fixup-ux501vw.patch but got a request to input: "File to patch:" And I don't know what should I type... I even don't have /sound folder as mentioned in this patch. Please, advice me. What am I doing wrong? I have the same laptop, Ubuntu 16.04 also and the same pitch/whistle static noise in headphones (it doesn't matter whether my sound volume is muted or not). The noise started approximately after login screen appearing. I used this temporary solution http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2204740 using p. 2 and 3: 2. Add this line to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf Code: options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-multi 3.
