[Touch-packages] [Bug 1850041] Re: Systemd-analyze blame returns "Bootup is not yet finished"

2019-11-24 Thread Ville Ranki
A lot of people seem to be suffering this if you search for "Bootup is
not yet finished
(org.freedesktop.systemd1.Manager.FinishTimestampMonotonic=0)".

Looks like plymouth is to blame, not systemd.

Title:
Systemd-analyze blame returns "Bootup is not yet finished"

Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Every time I run systemd-analyze blame, I get the message:

  Bootup is not yet finished
(org.freedesktop.systemd1.Manager.FinishTimestampMonotonic=0).
  Please try again later.

This, even if my laptop is on for several hours.

  Running systemctl list-jobs, returns:

  JOB UNIT TYPE STATE
1 graphical.target start waiting
   95 systemd-update-utmp-runlevel.service start waiting
   89 system-getty.slice start waiting

   21 setvtrgb.service start waiting
  112 plymouth-quit-wait.service start running
   88 getty@tty1.service start waiting
2 multi-user.targetstart waiting

Boot time is about 90 seconds, before and after upgrading from 19.04
  to 19.10.

All applications start and run normally.

My system is Ubuntu Budgie 19.10, working on a Dell Inspiron Laptop.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1592817] Re: gdebi-gtk crashed with ValueError in update_interface(): could not convert string to float: '0, 0000'

2016-12-29 Thread Ville Ranki
This bug is triggered when upgrading up to date xenial to yakkety, so should be
showstopper priority.
do-release-upgrade fails and cannot continue, potentially leaving system in
unbootable state.

  [Impact]
Crashes of gdebi (and possibly other tools) in non-English locales which use
1,0 or similar instead of 1.0

  [Test case]
Install a deb package with gdebi, like Google Chrome, in such a locale.

Original: Gdebi crashed while installing Google Chrome .deb-fil bur
the error didn't appear until I logged out and back in again

  [Regression potential]
Same as bug 1611010 - very low.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1590345] [NEW] Difficult filenames crash tracker-extract

2016-06-08 Thread Ville Ranki
Public bug reported:

Try this:

touch

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1441253] Re: hanging suspend job prevents shutdown

2015-08-14 Thread Ville Ranki
I just experienced the same issue, but I don't have anything related to
btrfs in logs. I also had a problem on a laptop (Thinkpad E540) with
external HDMI monitor not waking up. I tried to wake up the monitor by
closing and opening the lid. Finally I tried to shut down in the display
manager but nothing happened. Journalctl showed the same "Failed to
start poweroff.target: Transaction is destructive." error. Before this
Suspend has never worked on the laptop.

Perhaps the issue is in non-working suspend hanging and not related to
btrfs.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1461015] [NEW] Wired disconnects due to add_object(): Netlink error adding 0.0.0.0/0

2015-06-02 Thread Ville Ranki
Public bug reported:

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad E540 with r8169 wired onboard networking. After
15-30 minutes use the network stops working. There are no messages in
dmesg, link stays up etc.

This is output to journal:

kesä 02 12:59:42 villenthinkpad avahi-daemon[925]: Leaving mDNS multicast group

Disconnecting and reconnecting the cable solves the issue until next
reboot, so I don't think it's a DHCP configuration issue. Other PC's on
the network work fine.

This has also been reported as kernel bug #1459985 as it's still unknown
what causes the issue.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the cable solves the issue until next
  reboot, so I don't think it's a DHCP configuration issue. Other PC's
  on the network work fine.

This has also been reported as kernel bug #1459985 as it's still
  unknown what causes the issue.

  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04
  Package: network-manager 0.9.10.0-4ubuntu15.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1429822] [NEW] Cannot examine bug locally: apport-retrace is not installed

2015-03-09 Thread Ville Ranki
Public bug reported:

On a Ubuntu 14.10 system, when i try to examine bug locally i get error:

Failed to execute child process "apport-retrace" (No such file or
directory)

This is because package apport-retrace is not installed by default.

Suggested solution: ask "apport-retrace is needed but is not installed. Install
it?" from user
and continue after it has been installed.

** Affects: apport (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1211274] Re: xcb_wait_for_reply deadlock

2015-02-13 Thread Ville Ranki
This bug is 1.5 years old. I don't even remember what i was doing back
then. I suppose it can be closed if no-one still suffers from it.

Google shows other reports about xcb_wait_for_reply deadlocking. This happens
when starting the application
from .xsession file using nodm display manager. Starting the app from an x
terminal works so i believe this is some kind of timing issue / race condition.
The app in question is properietary so i cannot supply it to reproduce the
issue, sorry.
