Yes, that thread is how I found my way here. Also see - https://askubuntu.com/questions/1417618/mtd-device-must-be-supplied-device-name-is-empty "I tried installing it on a WD SSD and it jiust failed to boot." And there was another thread I believe on reddit, which indicated something similar

Same problem here on 22.04 z370 system, however it is also preventing my from booting into the system. It definitely has something to do with a recent update. I just tried a fresh install and after rebooting from updates, I saw the error. I'm on a SSD and running UEFI, which based on Google
