Solution from post #8 works partially for me : Asus R556UB, with Linux Mint 18 Thanks to it I do now have input sound from webcam mic and output sound from internal speakers. However I do not have output sound from external headphone. To be noted : when rebooting from Windows 10 (dual-boot) sound is lost. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1612708] Re: Symbolic Link does not work in 16.04 LTS as in 14.04 LTS
I ran into a bug that may be the same as yours : My data is on a different partition than the system. I use symbolic links in the ~ directory to access these files. e.g. /home/me/Download is a symbolic link to /media/DATA/me/Download/ When I try to delete a file from the Download folder, accessing it through the symbolic link, I have a message that says (I translate) 'unable to move the file to the trash do you want to delete it completely ?' or (using Thunar on Xubuntu 16.04) **"invalid cross-device link"** This is the same whether the data partition is EXT4 or NTFS formated. When I access the file directly from the /media/DATA partition I can move it into the trash normally. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to colord in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1612708 Title: Symbolic Link does not work in 16.04 LTS as in 14.04 LTS Status in colord package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS colord: Installiert: 1.2.12-1ubuntu1 Installationskandidat: 1.2.12-1ubuntu1 Versionstabelle: *** 1.2.12-1ubuntu1 500 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Under Ubuntu 14.04 LTS I have created NAS access by using 'gvfs-mount smb://nasdo/public'. [Touch-packages] [Bug 192629] Re: "Cannot move file to trash, do you want to delete immediately?" on NTFS / VFAT partitions
The solution of mounting the ntfs partition with uid=1000 and gid=46 (46=plugdev) allows to use the trash only for the first user (uid=1000). However if there are more users it does not work for them. Even if they are included in the pludev group and all the permissions are given to the group and a .Trash-1001 folder is created, there is no access to the trash for user 1001. User 1001 can manually write into the .Trash-1001 folder (which belongs to 1000:46). However deletion of a file (from nautilus menu) is immediate. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to glib2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192629 Title: "Cannot move file to trash, do you want to delete immediately?" on NTFS / VFAT partitions Status in The "G" Library - GLib: New Status in glib2.0 package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Trying to delete files with nautilus from a vfat partition "fails". [Touch-packages] [Bug 188342] Re: keymap fr/oss: numpad '.' mapped to period instead of KP_Decimal
In Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty the same problem remains with the french (alternate) = français (variante) keyboard layout. (This layout is for me the best of all french layouts, and it is the one selected by default when installing Ubuntu.) But now, "thanks" to the gnome simplying of interfaces we now no longer have access to the optionnal settings of the keyboard layout ! To have access to these settings, install gnome-tweak-tool, you will find them under the "typing" section. However gnome-tweak-tool doesn't work too good in 14.04 (background is transparent !) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/188342 Title: keymap fr/oss: numpad '.' mapped to period instead of KP_Decimal Status in central project for keyboard configuration: Fix Released Status in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “xkeyboard-config” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-kbd In Ubuntu 7.10, xserver-xorg-input-kbd_1.2.0-1+1.2.1ubuntu1 with the following Xorg.conf settings: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Generic Keyboard" Driver "kbd" Option "CoreKeyboard" Option "XkbRules" "xorg" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "fr" Option "XkbVariant""oss" EndSection Got: $ xmodmap -pke | grep 'keycode *91' keycode 91 = KP_Delete period comma U202F comma U202F Expected: $ xmodmap -pke | grep 'keycode *91' keycode 91 = KP_Delete KP_Decimal comma U202F comma U202F This issue is a MAJOR usability issue in OpenOffice.org Calc, as in the current state Calc is unusable to enter decimal numbers quickly. This is a major blocker for migration of Windows/Excel users to Ubuntu/OpenOffice.org. See bug #188331.
