Guys i have the same problem...and i installed ubuntu 4-5 hours ago so ye sad. Can anyone tell me what to do? I need that hdmi audio output cause my laptop display is busted and i use hdmi to connect to a monitor to do things. Upgraded to ubuntu 14.10 still the card freezes. I took it to a pc repair shop. They ran stress tests and found that the graphics cad han issue. It was replaced with Radeon HD 7800.
