2015-02-01 Thread truant
I'm getting this too, since upgrading from 14.04 (clean install) to
14.10.

Title:
GUI symbol for Wi-fi in 14.10 shows not connected even when connected

Status in One Hundred Papercuts:
  Confirmed
Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in wifi-radar package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Using Ubuntu 14.10 alpha 2 with all updates. Clean install.
  Network manager 0.9.8.8-0ubuntu23
  Wifi-card: Intel Wireless 7260 (Rev 73)

The Wi-fi symbol in the top right corner does not indicate that it is
connected to Wi-fi even when it is connected. (It shows a question
  mark instead)

Expected behavior is that it would show signal strength, or at the
very least make it grey and remove the question mark.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1352975] Re: GUI symbol for Wi-fi in 14.10 shows not connected even when connected

2015-02-01 Thread truant
Various sources online suggest this bug is fixed in Network Manager
9.8.8.9 (Ubuntu is currently on 9.8.8.8) but I haven't verified this
myself. The bugzilla report in Gnome is closed for this reason.

2014-09-27 Thread truant
I mean seriously ubuntu, wtf is going on with the crippled
x264/ffmpeg/libavcodec/etc in 14.04?

Literally all my video processing scripts are broken now.
