[Touch-packages] [Bug 1470730] Re: [HP EliteBook 840 G2, Realtek ALC3228, HP UltraSlim Dock 2013] Line in/Line out on docking station doesn't work
It's funny.. I have not been able to get it to work correctly; On my machine, I have 0x1b as the line-out and 0x18 as the line-in as well. When I override 0x1b with the above settings, no sound comes out on line-out, although pavucontrol shows activity. When I override 0x18 with the exact same settings, I get sound out on the line-in. So I'm currently using the line-in as the line-out. It's a bit unpleasant since I'm getting quite a few pops and clicks, but I'm not sure if it's related to this funky setup. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1470730 Title: [HP EliteBook 840 G2, Realtek ALC3228, HP UltraSlim Dock 2013] Line in/Line out on docking station doesn't work Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When I plug in external speakers to line in/line out combo on the laptop the internal speakers are turned off but when I plug the speakers into the docking station (HP UltraSlim Dock 2013 EURO, D9Y32AA) music keeps playing in the internal speakers. I guess I'm still not understanding the release process and whether this is fixed, if there is more information needed, and how we can test it? Sorry for a newbie question, but what's next? I don't mind giving it a whirl if someone shares installation instructions. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1475129] [NEW] HP EliteBook 9480m and others crash when sleeping docked and resuming undocked
Public bug reported: I've seen this bug on multiple versions of Ubuntu (14.04 and 15.04) and with multiple hardware (HP EliteBook 9470m, HP EliteBook 9480m, and HP EliteBook 820). Not surprising since they appear to share a bios core. They are all running latest BIOS. Sleep/resume normally works fine, but if I allow it to sleep while in the docking station, and then I undock it and resume it, it appears to try to resume, then after half a second or so, it flashes back to POST screen and boots fresh. It looks to me like the resume operation crashes somehow and it reboots. Observations: It does not matter if there are any monitors pluged into the docking station. I've tried toggling deep-sleep in bios, no effect. I've tried toggling USB3 in bios, no effect. I can't find any indication of a crash or a reason for the reboot in any of the logs. I added the dmesg from EliteBook 820 because it's the simpler installation. I have Bluetooth, Camera, and audio turned off in bios for various reasons. It is also docked in a monitor-less dock (I use it for charging). I added the dmesg from EliteBook 820 because it's the simpler installation. I have Bluetooth, Camera, and audio turned off in bios for various reasons. It is also docked in a monitor-less dock (I use it for charging). Please let me know what other information I can provide.
