[Touch-packages] [Bug 1804538] [NEW] graphic bug for prompt in password field in qt5 application

2018-11-21 Thread zebul666
Public bug reported:

In password field of qt5 application, (seen here with keepassxc and
electrum), one can notice that following graphic bug:

When the input password field is empty, the prompt is a vertical bar.

But as soon as you type something in it, it becomes, something like a
"flag" aka. a vertical bar with a little triangle at the top.

The added graphical artefact (the triangle) is not displayed at the same
position, relative to the vertical bar, given the count of characters in
the input field.

Meaning, the triangle is sometimes slightly off, and sometimes it is
perfectly aligned on the vertical bar.

In the example screenshot, the triangle is not perfectly aligned with
the vertical bar.

on ubuntu 18.10, using wayland, gnome-shell, qt5.11.1, intel hd card on
i3-3217U (default driver)

with the same config, one does not see such a graphical bug on (current
as of today) archlinux.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1440818] [NEW] apport-bug does not anonymize udevdb log

2015-04-06 Thread zebul666
Public bug reported:

when apport-bug joins the output of 'udevadm info --export-db' as
UdevDb.txt' in a bug report, various uuid related to partitions, file
systems, and disks are not anonymized.

More over serial number of disk, mac adress, or WWN are not anonymized
either.

I join a patch (to hookutils.py) that attempts to fix that

Title:
apport-bug does not anonymize udevdb log

Status in apport package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
when apport-bug joins the output of 'udevadm info --export-db' as
UdevDb.txt' in a bug report, various uuid related to partitions, file
systems, and disks are not anonymized.

More over serial number of disk, mac adress, or WWN are not anonymized
  either.

I join a patch (to hookutils.py) that attempts to fix that

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1439440] Re: Laptop does not go to sleep when closing lid with external monitor connected

2015-04-06 Thread zebul666
** Description changed:

Using Dell Inspiron 15 3521 with Intel HD 4000 and an external monitor on
HDMI output, in 15.04 beta 2:
when closing the lid of the laptop, the laptop does not go to sleep (suspend
to ram) as expected, but instead stays on, with the external monitor still on.

I excepted that the laptop goes to sleep and the external monitor was
blanked and turned off. This was the behavior on 14.10

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1439445] Re: systemd-fsck laps 30s on boot for /dev/mapper/home

2015-04-05 Thread zebul666
the RTC clock was kept in UTC. This gave a wrong time at boot, and
possibly shoke fsck about a superblock in the future.

Once I changed UTC to yes in /etc/default/rcS, I was able to remove the
fsck.mode=skip as they were no more 30s delay during boot.

FIXED !

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1439440] Re: Laptop does not go to sleep when closing lid with external monitor connected

2015-04-04 Thread zebul666
sorry to spam here but this is working now. I don't know why sometimes
it works and sometimes not. (I mean working with the systemd work-around
enabled in /etc/systemd/logind.conf)

Another problem when it's working is that the laptop screen brightness
is reverted to maximum and that controls from keyboard or from settings
do not work anymore. The only way is to use
/sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness directly.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1439440] Re: Laptop does not go to sleep when closing lid with external monitor connected

2015-04-03 Thread zebul666
So this seems to be a new feature of systemd (introduced in systemd
211): when docked, it does not suspend when closing the lid

Changing HandleLidSwitchDocked to suspend in /etc/systemd/logind.conf
fixed the problem; that is I get the expected behavior that when
closing the lid the laptop goes to sleep even with a connected external
monitor

BUT ONLY ON ARCHLINUX

This work-around does not work in ubuntu !!!

Obviously, using fsck.mode=skip kernel parameter does not show the 30s
wait.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1439440] Re: Laptop does not go to sleep when closing lid with external monitor connected

when the lid is closed, I can see in Display Settngs or with xrandr that
the integrated screen (ldvs) is off.

If I use Suspend in the cog menu, the laptop goes to sleep normally.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1439445] Re: systemd-fsck laps 30s on boot for /dev/mapper/home

2015-04-02 Thread zebul666
so I removed the bcache LUKS device thing from the equation:
I commented it out the relevant line for home in /etc/crypttab and /etc/fstab
to use a dummy empty folder for /home on the main root SSD partition

and rebooted

and this still happens, this time it is

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1439440] [NEW] Laptop does not go to sleep when closing lid with external monitor connected

2015-04-01 Thread zebul666
Public bug reported:

Using Dell Inspiron 15 3521 with Intel HD 4000 and an external monitor on HDMI
output, in 15.04 beta 2:
when closing the lid of the laptop, the laptop does not go to sleep (suspend to
ram) as expected, but instead stays on, with the external monitor still on.

I excepted that the laptop goes to sleep and the external monitor was
blanked and turned off. This was the behavior on 14.10

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1369113] Re: Steam game began crashing 2014-09-12 (cross-post Source bugtracker)

2014-11-06 Thread zebul666
only the spamming issue I guess.

However I have tried the oibaf ppa that provides a complete more on the edge
graphic stack.
It worked, at least a little better as I was able to play at least 2 hours
without a freeze

see https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/ubuntu/graphics-drivers
you can easily revert to default graphic driver if needed as explained

Steam game began crashing 2014-09-12 (cross-post Source bugtracker)

Status in “steam” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I am cross-posting this issue, which I reported to Valve's Source GIT
issue tracker, because it was suggested that the regression may be due
to Ubuntu Xorg changes rather than changes on the Steam end.

  Link: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/1822

  Symptom --
DoD:Source loads normally. But after a few minutes of playing (not a specific
time as far as I can tell), the game freezes in place. A short clip (maybe a
quarter of a second) of the last audio that played then repeats over and over
on a loop. The process has to be killed manually with a QUIT or HUP signal for
good measure. This is a new issue that just arose today.

I have included system info, kernel log, and output when game is run
  from terminal and crashes.

Title:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1003950] Re: launcher does not show minimized update manager while clicked

2014-10-29 Thread zebul666
I have this problem too. I am running 14.10 but I already had the problem in
14.04
The update manager icon appears in the dash taskbar but clicking the icon never
grings up the update manager window.

Plug-in in another screen make appears the window in the second screen.

This bug is not fixed !

Bug description:
Update manager is showing up in the dock but I can click on the icon
all day and nothing happens. Similarly if I do Super-S or Super-W it
  doesn't show up anywhere.

Even if I alt-tab to the application nothing shows up. This happens
only when update manager runs on its own. If I kill it and then launch
it myself it comes to the foreground just fine.

I'm not 100% sure whether this is a unity, compiz, or update-manager
bug but so far my bet is on unity.

the exact same problem.
