First I want to point out that I had to reinstall my system a week ago.
While I still have trouble to print its not the same syptom it was
before. Now I am not able to print anything anymore, independent from
when I connect the printer to the computer. However, I have tried all
the modifications

this one, but feel free to re-open it if you get to the same problem
again.

In the file
/usr/share/cups/usb/org.cups.usb-quirks
There is a line
0x04e8 soft-reset
Please try the following:
1. Comment out the line, by modifying it to
#0x04e8 soft-reset
Turn off and turn on your printer again. Can you print normally now? Try
printing several jobs.
2. Modify it as
