automatically, if you can provide some details, like did you get other
display-manager installed, that would helpful.

However, it seems you have another bug, you shouldn't get 40s of black
screen and be transitionned quickly to plymouth (as with upstart). Mind
filing another bug report with additional debug information (let's keep

We shouldn't scare our users. I have not chosen quiet splash, I've
chosen the standard bootsplash. There is no reason for 40 seconds of
black screen rather than the chosen splash image.
There should be plymouth and direct transition to sddm. This certainly
