After a fresh install of 18.04 Bionic, my USB wireless adapter didn't show up. Running 'lsusb' provided the device ID for the adapter as 0bda:a811 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Cross-referencing that ID with 'Ubuntu 18.04' I eventually fell down the rabbit hole at askubuntu.com and landed here:

I think I have the same issue on my nettop using "Pegatron RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller". It doesn't work out of the box on neither Ubuntu Server (bionic) nor Arch, but I used to run Ubuntu Server on this hardware around a year ago without any problems. Someone else
