I don't have any 'pipewire' installed. Sound gradually fades away when
starting any sound (e.g. youtube). Headphones and built-in mic doesn't
work. Ubuntu 20.04.

I had the same problem after installing 20.10, removing pipewire fixed
my problem and now the sound is working.
