A bit of additional information. I *believe* if you
logout/restart/reboot by clicking the icon in the top right and using
the menu, the navigation shortcuts are preserved. If you restart by any
other method, IE, reboot, init 6, shutdown, etc then the navigational
shortcuts are wiped. I'll update this if I find out to the contrary but
so far that's what I've found.
