I GOT IT! Thanks to the new comment provided by Markcortbass in
http://www.danbishop.org/2015/02/21/add-eduroam-or-any-other-802-1x-
wireless-network-to-ubuntu-phone/. I also set the path properly for the
ca.pem file adding to the string: \nca-cert=etc/NetworkManager/system-
connections/ca.pem

This will be part of the wi-fi authentication dialog, as used by not
just the network indicator, but also System Settings, the first-run
setup, the wi-fi suggestion prompt, and the authentication-changed
prompt. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Networking#wi-fi-authentication-
variations

Honestly, I don't understand how you could even release a phone without
this feature. I would be so pissed if my phone didn't support a huge
chunk of the wifi networks.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1283763] Re: Cannot connect to WPA Enterprise networks

2015-03-31 Thread Maarten Bonnema
Hi There too,

Yes, I managed as well by manually editing. In fact I took a working eduroam
settings-file from my laptop, removed the mac-address, and moved it to the
ubuntu phone. Indeed chmod +600 was necessary.
Also, strangely, I had to change eap to ttls and phase2-auth to pap.
Now it works.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1283763] Re: Cannot connect to WPA Enterprise networks

2015-03-30 Thread Ju
Hi there!

I just managed to get connected to the so called eduroam wireless
network that uses enterprise WPA by following the instructions given at

http://www.danbishop.org/2015/02/21/add-eduroam-or-any-other-802-1x-
wireless-network-to-ubuntu-phone/

ADDITIONALLY I had to change the ownership of the connection file as well as
the usergroup to 'root'.
It is just a workaround, but it is not that difficult if you have installed the
terminal app.

I would not consider this bug wishlist, by the way.

Many universities use WPA enterprise networks. So this bug makes unity-
desktop-next unusable for me.
