I'm not Anne and I don't fully remember this bug. I believe it was about Linux looking for new WiFi routers to connect to every 2 minutes and issuing a message when one was not found. This given there should be an option within Ubuntu Network Manager (or whomever) to not message every 2 minutes

Indeed under this free roaming philosophy even if another WiFi node is found it should not be connected to unless the signal strength is hire. Then and only then when connected a message should be sent. Sending a message on success is infinitely preferable to a message of failure to a connection

@Olivier @Anders: I have a dual-band wireless router with where the 5ghz and 2.5ghz radios have both different SSID and diferent BSSID. So the constant scans are not triggered by multiple APs with the same SSID in every case. Pinning the BSSID stopped the scans, so many thanks to ricklee518.

I have connectivity issues with this problem. The only reason I noticed the connectivity issue is because my work VPN disconnects. Otherwise I wouldn't have noticed. So I guess that this is a loss of only a few packets which TCP will definitely recover for most applications. Pinning the BSSID

I disagree with the duplicate link to 578431. That bug is just about wifi components spamming to Syslog. This bug covers a situation where people's WiFi connections are being repeatedly dropped (to the point of unusability) due to issues in the wifi stack. The logging captures the drops.
