As with #4, I was/am trying to upgrade from 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS.
It appears that the 14.04 upgrade is trying to do:
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-3.2.0-89-generic-pae
which is the my kernel from 12.04. Whether or not it should be doing
this, I don't know.
The files it
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-3.2.0-67-generic
cp: cannot stat
`/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pango/1.6.0/module-files.d/libpango1.0-0.modules': No
such file or directory
cp: cannot stat
`/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pango/1.6.0/modules/pango-basic-fc.so': No such file
or directory
