Serhiy, Robin, I suggest investing traffic shaping / QoS solutions such as http://lartc.org/wondershaper/ (packaged as 'wondershaper' in Ubuntu) -- back when I had limited bandwidth this utility was quite wonderful. You can of course achieve similar things without this specific tool. Perhaps the

It's still an issue because there is some network failure that is not timeouted correctly. But I cannot provide steps to reproduce it because I don't yet know how to identify what exactly is wrong. Looks like it's a hosting-side issue because I've tried connecting from completely different
