Title:
package dbus 1.8.8-1ubuntu2.1
AFAIK this was caused by the proprietary Cisco AnyConnect VPN client I
had installed. I unstinatlled it (sudo
/opt/cisco/vpn/bin/vpn_uninstall.sh), updraded the packages without a
hitch and reinstalled the VPN client. It seems to have worked perfectly.

Just about everything to do with updates is producing error codes,
necessitating verification that updates were actually installed.
Today it was flashplugin-installer and spamassassin that were supposedly
unconfigured, abut I think they were.

It seems to involve ppp as well. I can still install updates, but I get
the 'restart now' message for each and every update.

I thought it centred around a malware filter I installed a couple of
days back, but removing it didn't help. Now I can't reinstall clamav or
it's dependencies.
