I have the same problem: with qjackctl I stop jackd whenever I want to
look at a internet video. Not very convenient...

Title:
Firefox HTML5 Sound Doesn't work with ALSA Jack Plugin

Status in alsa-plugins package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This is not an Ubuntu specific bug, but rather a bug in the version of
the alsa jack plugin that comes with Trusty (exists in any release
before 1.0.28 of the plugin). Here is a bug report from the Mozilla
database that describes the problem in more detail:

  https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=812900

The basic issue is that if you use a .asoundrc file to route alsa
sound through Jack Audio via the alsa-jack plugin, HTML5 sound doesn't
work properly in Firefox. There are probably other affected apps as
  well.
