I'm having the exact same problem after upgrading from ubuntu-gnome 14.10 on an older HP Pavillion DV1000 laptop. Got a bit too frustrated with it all so I re-installed 14.10 again (so not much use I'm afraid for logs, etc... but maybe the hardware I'm running helps, who knows)... -- You received
