  I have upgraded from ubuntu 15.04 to 15.10. After this the sound from
  the subwoofer is very low. I tested with another machine which is a
  15.04 to check if my subwoofer was busted and found that the sound
  comes out fine. I have a 4.1 Creative speakers.

That fixed the issue.  My configuration is the same as shown in the
image link. I changed the profile in pavucontrol as Analog surround 4.0
output + analog stereo input.

select stereo profile is enough since snd-hda-intel copy front channels
to rear channels

use 4.0 allow you to adjust volume front and rear speakers


your subwoofer are only controlled by the volume knob

Raymond,
 I would not able to understand much of the sound system although I am a 
developer. Now is it because of the last changes in the remixing that I 
suddenly have low sound in the sub woofer? How can I fix this now?

4.1 Analog Speaker System

 In a 4.1 configuration, 4 satellites (front left and right, rear left),
and 1 subwoofer. There are total of 5 speakers.

The subwoofer only outputs lower frequencies from a stereo signal, not
from a true subwoofer signal.

you got low sound because other four channels will get a high-pass filter but 
your subwoofer are using the stereo sigmal
