  I have google account setup with gnome online accounts. After updating
  telepathy-mission control from 1:5.16.3-1ubuntu4 to 1:5.16.3-1ubuntu5
  empathy stopped recognizing this account. Another account (icq) that
  was setup directly in empathy works fine.

Thank you for your bug report, indeed the multiarch tweaks changed the
plugins location which makes it not find those installes from other
binaries

The changelog has that comment

"# We specifically do not want multiarch: only one version of MC can be
# installed anyway, the plugin directory is based on the ${libdir}, and
# empathy/experimental ships a plugin in the non-multiarch location
CONFIGURE_FLAGS += --libdir=\$${prefix}/lib"


Matthias, are you sure we want to go against the specific decision of the 
debian maintainer there?
