[Touch-packages] [Bug 1549841] Re: Change display settings to use two monitors on Ubuntu 14.04 with HP notebook nx6325

2016-04-02 Thread BrOne
Apparently, Unity 2D is no longer available after upgrade to 14.04. So
the Radeon Xpress 200M video chip from nx6325 don't support the
resolution 1366 x 768 (16: 9) with Unity 3D. If anyone can include Unity
2D to 14.04 release, please help me. For now, the only solution to use
1366 x 768 resolution on the second monitor is login Ubuntu in metacity
mode.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1549841] Re: Change display settings to use two monitors on Ubuntu 14.04 with HP notebook nx6325

2016-03-07 Thread BrOne
Unfortunately on my notebook nx6325 I have only installed Ubuntu, I
don't have a dual boot with Windows. Then I do not have to update the
BIOS because the update program (.exe.) only runs on Windows.

By the way, this problem didn't exist in version 12.04.03 . It appeared
after upgrade to the version 14.04.03. In 12.04.03 version I could see
both monitors with the corresponding resolution (1360 x 768 (16: 9) for
my AOC monitor and 1024 x 768 (4: 3) for the notebook monitor).

Therefore, I think it should not be a problem for updating the BIOS.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1549841] Re: Change display settings to use two monitors on Ubuntu 14.04 with HP notebook nx6325

2016-02-27 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
BrOne, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

As per
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=1849084=8=2104
an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available
(F.07). If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible:
1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an
apport-collect):
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement
or not.
3) Please mark this report Status New. If it's not reproducible, please mark
this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.
