[Touch-packages] [Bug 1574606] Re: OSK is uncomfortably huge in a tablet in landscape mode
One option is to make the keyboard a floating window rather than docked at the bottom, like windows 10. however this needs UX review and a UX designer needs to be assigned. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-keyboard in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574606 Title: OSK is uncomfortably huge in a tablet in landscape mode Status in Ubuntu UX: New Status in ubuntu-keyboard package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When using the BQ M10 tablet in landscape mode, the virtual keyboard stretches from one side of the screen to the other; this makes it quite uncomfortable to use because of the distance one's finger needs to travel (especially when using one single finger to type). Also the height of the keys could be reduced (just leave them as they are on the phone) as they look quite huge compared to the rest of the UI and take up a lot of real estate on screen. My Sony Z1 tablet had a small key that would shrink the keyboard in portrait - it toggled left, right, and a sort of split with a gap in the middle.
